Pre-subject reflection
In the current business scenario, it is required for the students, who will be the future of
the corporate to know about the managing, leading and stewardship. This is due to the fact that
for the contemporary business scenario, effective management and leadership are the key
elements to be there for the business people in order to have growth in their professional career.
Thus, being a management student, I also felt the importance of learning of extensive policies of
leadership, management and stewardship. Accordingly, I opted for this subject to gain the
knowledge about the above discussed elements. The key expectations that I have with this
subject are to gain an understanding about the effective ways of managing and leading in the
organizations. In addition, the communication skill that is needed for effectively deal with people
in the organization along with effectively communicating with the organizational stakeholders
will also be learned by me after studying this subject.
However, some issues that I have faced in studying the subject is the requirement of good
communication skill to interact with my fellow class mates along with the teachers. Moreover, as
this subject is of the requirement of group work among the students, thus, the requirement of
interpersonal skills is of more important. However, being belonging from a culturally different
area compared to my class mates as well as the teachers, I felt some challenges in effectively
communicating with them. In addition, from the very beginning, I am having lack of effective
communication skills. Thus, it is also proving difficult for me to effectively communicate with
all the group members along with leading them in case of any group work. It is creating negative
impression among the team members along with affecting the coordination among them.

the group work and the process to built consensus among the group members. It is being
expected by me that this subject will help me in gaining more understanding and knowledge
about the aspects of leadership, managing and stewardship.

The design of our subject module is being done every effectively and keeping in mind of
the varied mindset of the students. Moreover, as discussed earlier, the presence of the live
projects and activities helped me in gaining more practical knowledge compared to the
classroom knowledge. Having the practical activities also helped to enhance the interest of the
students and in reducing the monotony that students suffer from having the continuous classroom
teachings (Robles 2012). The most beneficial part for mine in attending these live activities is

organizational stakeholders, I came up with various recommended steps, which can be beneficial
for the organization. One of the key steps that I have discussed is the effective determination of
the employees along with garnering feedback from them. Being played the role of an employee, I
have been able to identify the importance of garnering the feedback from the employees. This is
due to the reason that, employees are ones who directly deal with the end customers and thus
they have much better knowledge about the requirement and expectation of the customers along
with the change in the taste and preference pattern of the customers. Thus, I recommended in our
group work that it is important for the upper level management to effectively determine the
feedback from the customers in order to identify the market potentiality.
In this study module, we have also discussed about the case study of King Gee. The case
study was about the issue of downsizing of their employees due to their showdown of their
facility. They have taken this decision to reduce their cost of operation. As discussed in the
earlier case, here also, we have divided in employees and upper level management. I was given
the role of human resource managers. Thus, my job was to reduce the impact of job loss of the
employees. With the help of the knowledge being gained by me in this study module, I had been
able to communicate effectively to the higher level management about the need of counseling the
employees.
Due to the enhancement of my communication skill and gaining of diversified

managing and leading in the business scenario is not only about the maximizing of profits, rather
there can be various issues if the ethics are not being followed.

necessary aspects such as effective balance between the practical and theoretical learning. Thus,
the effective balance of these both aspects helped me in gaining the knowledge from the both
world. I currently have enough domain knowledge along with enough practical exposure to
