TASK 2

The above-mentioned task which was learning the leadership style of Jeff Bezos helped me in a
number of ways to generate various skills in myself. I came to know about employability and the
study of skills which are required by a leader in order to lead a group or a team effectively and
efficiently (Kraiger and et. al., 2020) . There were a number of skills which I developed in
myself while completing this task. All these skills will help me in future to achieve all my goals
and objectives efficiently.
I came to know that I lacked in communication skills. It includes both verbal as well as
written communication. I needed to work on my communication skills in order to communicate
the information required to all the members efficiently. It is also an important skill required by a
leader. It is the duty of leader to communicate the roles and responsibilities of everyone in a team
efficiently. A leader needs to make sure that the task and work are divided to each member in the
team so that the goals and objectives of team can be attained within the given time period. I
learned how to communicate with others in verbal as well as written form. Now I can
communicate properly in a team and make sure that the information I want to convey to the other
person reaches to them properly.

I also learnt research skills while completing this task. I made a research on Jeff Bezos and
the leadership style which he follows in order to maintain the employees in his organisation and
move towards achievement and success (Todd, 2020). I came to know that there are basically
two types of research which are primary and secondary. Primary research consists of fresh data
which is collected by market through the researcher itself in order to conduct the research.
Whereas in secondary research the already present data in market is used for the research. I
conducted a secondary research as I could not meet Jeff Bezos myself so all the information
present in newspaper, magazines and already existing reports regarding him were critically
analyzed by me during this project. It helps me in enhancing my research skills.
I came to know that it is difficult to work in a team. There were a number of members who
belong to different communities and made the team more diversified. The conflicts in a
diversified team are more as all the members are from a different value and believes. It is
important that all these members are brought together and effective communication is initiated
between them so that no misunderstanding happen and the objective of team can be attentive
within the given time period. I also came to know that it is important for someone in the team to
take the role of a leader (Maaranen and et. al., 2020). It is important for one person in the team to
come forward and make sure that they take responsibility of team as a whole which I did in this
teamwork and enhanced my skills of working in a team.
Time management as well as self-management are also very important factor to develop
the personal skills within a person. I came to know this while considering this project. My time
management skills are not up to mark. I usually spend more time in the task which were not
much important and then I had very little time left for the important task to be completed. I made
sure after this project that I divide all the task required to be done by me according to their
priority and then complete them within the given time period. I made a schedule on how to
complete the task and shared it with my team so that everyone can manage their time while
completing the task. This also helps me in self-management. It is important for an individual to
manage themselves before managing a team. If self-management is not efficient then it is
difficult for a person to act as a leader. I developed myself management skills during this project
and prove myself as a leader for the team.
I also learn how to efficiently bring out solutions to problems arising while walking. It is
often seen that there is a causal number of problems while completing a task .There are a number

of steps to be followed which I followed in order to bring solution to certain problems and
barriers arising in my work. I first analyse the problem critically and then took the advice from
my team on various ways to solve the problem. Then we divided the solution among everyone
and make sure that all the advantages and disadvantages of using the solution are listed by
everyone. After this we conducted a survey in order to choose the best outcome from the options
available to us. In this way I also learnt problem-solving skills while completing this task.
I used Kolb’s reflective model which is also called as experimental learning. This is the
learning and generates from their own experience (Hartney, 2020). There are various steps
included in this learning which are concrete experience, reflective observation, abstract
conceptualization, and active experimentation. Whenever any problem arises in this project, I
consciously physically experience the situation and then reflected on it in a systematic way. I
also met description of the experience and but the learnings from my past on how I have sought
with the similar problems in my past. Then I came to a decision that what would I have done
better in solving a problem in order to solve the present problem. After deciding on the best way
to solve the problem I made sure that I have enough theoretical knowledge to solve it. In this
way I developed reflective learning while conducting this project.
I also used monitoring for my own performance. For this I took the help of my team
members, peers and colleagues who help me in providing me feedback about my work. I made
sure that there were no difference between my said goals and objectives and the result I have
achieved. If there were any difference in it I made sure to find out the reason behind not
achieving any of my goals. Through this I effectively solved all my problems and made sure that
all my efforts are dedicated to words achievement of aims and objective of a project.
I also came to know about all my individual strengths and weaknesses and how can I
utilise them in order to make the best strategies so that I can use the opportunities and minimise
the threat is coming ahead. I am a team worker but often hesitate in taking the lead. I realised
that my communication skills were also not up to the mark which I enhanced during this project.
I had leadership quality in me so I took a step forward and make sure that I do not hesitate
anymore while working on the project. In this way I assist all my developmental needs and also
came to know about a number of resources through which I can enhance my skills in order to
achieve all the required goals and objectives of the task.

At the end of the project I also came along with a professional development method in order
to make my own approach for reflective learning. This will also help me in continuous
development of my professional skills. From now on I keep a note on all the work done by me
and the deviations of results from the plant (Aliona, 2020). I make sure that I found out the
reason behind any deviation or failure of my plans. I then critically analyse the reasons behind
my failure and the steps which could be further taken by me to make sure that this does not
happen in future. This will help me in continuous development of my skills and capabilities to
achieve all my future goals effectivelyy.
