INTRODUCTION
Cross cultural is defined as efforts of company in order to increase ability of staff to
interact with colleagues and associates from various nationalities and background (Cavaleri and
Seivert, 2012). It is style of leaders to achieve goal and objectives by following cross culture
among organisation. This assignment is based on individual reflection where cross culture
leadership style is discussed.
MAIN BODY
Cross cultural communication is the way in which organisation understand different
people of world for communicating verbally and non-verbally. It is very important concept due
to rise in globalisation of business. In order to survive in today's competitive market, it is very
essential to know about culture of other countries and use their leadership style for survival so
that organisation can sustain and grow. According to scenario given in presentation, Carlos
Ghosn has followed effective cross culture leadership style for success of business. He is the
CEO of Renault Nissan alliance. He has built and implement strategic plan for saving respective
business from bankruptcy. In order to be CEO of organisation he possess various leadership style
so that work can be done in effective and efficient manner. According to my opinion, cross
cultural improve individual opinions, ideas and views and helps in learning many things from
others. Through help of such culture, people can learn many things about places, countries and
others to manage work in proper systematic manner. There are different style of leadership
possessed by Carlos Ghosh are transformational, transactional and others. Due to help of such
style, he worked hard in order to sustain in market.
According to my opinion, in order to work in competitive market, Carlos Ghosn has
adopted cross cultural leadership style for work performance. They are situational, Laissez-faire,
transformational. When respective organisation faced problem, it was he decision to make
alliance and became Renault Nissan. Firstly, he analysed situation regarding what is happening
in market and use best strategy to adopt it. Then, made everything to be free and open so that
proper understanding can be drawn from the situation. Lastly he use transformational leadership
style in order to alliance with organisation. As per opinion, he was a man with master mind and
easily understand scenario about market and things happening there and draw conclusion.

Carlos Ghosn use transformational leadership style through which he helped business for
developing new vision, guiding through transformative. He is very talented and adopted things
easily and understand communication with proper target people. The behaviour of this man is
different than others for analysing things and working on it. There were many situation arise
when organisation has failed but Carlos Ghosn never feel depressed and stressed and use best
leadership style in order to overcome from situation. He is charismatic leader having confidence,
competence and strong moral values. Before becoming CEO of organisation, he faced
challenges. In 1996, he was deputy Chief Executive Officer of Renault and was to straighten
company and within 2 years he got it. Similarly, in context of laissez-faire leadership, he was
associated with counter performance and lack of focus on goals. He focused more on achieving
his goals and objectives. As people from different parts of world work in organisation. He
focused on working hard for delivering performance and connecting with people. Firstly, he
gained trust of staff and worked together for achieving results. As per my opinion, he provided
freedom to all staffs in order to be creative and controlling is done at same time so that
productivity can be high.
The president of Toyota has put his opinion regarding Carlos Ghosn where style of
Laisess-faire leadership does not fit to their Japanese work culture. Carlos Ghosn has replaced
Keiretsu culture with leadership and management style and provide staff freedom for creating it
successfully with non Japanese. Different challenges has been faced by Carlos Ghosn in order to
make Renault Nissan success in competitive market. It is very essential to work with changing
need and demand of people for better outcome so that set goal and objectives can be achieved.
Similarly, in situational leadership style, various situations arise in organisation and accordingly
plans and strategies need to be made. There are many situation arise in Renault where Carlos
Ghosn has used situational in order to save organisation save from bankruptcy. What the
situation arise in business accordingly role should be played by manager or leader so that goal
can be achieved. Carlos Ghosn plays role of directive and supporting behaviour in order to guide
staff and employees so that they can perform work in better and effective manner.
Carlos Ghosn is considered as situational leader because he can handle and manage any
type of situation arise in organisation and make best decision in order to perform work in
effective and efficient manner. He is regarded as charismatic leaders who always express level of
confidence, competence with strong moral value, good communication skills and having

expectation to achieve high goals and objectives. He was also arrested for misconduct of
significant acts and violating financial law. As per my views, it is very important for person to
understand cross cultural in order to get success and grow in market. In order to be a leader,
leadership style should be possessed by them so that work can be done in proper and systematic
manner. This report is on Carlos Ghosn who is perfect leader and alliance both Renault Nissan
from bankruptcy. He is the man with full confidence, having strong communication skills and
provided freedom to employees for better work performance.
CONCLUSION
From the above report, it can be summarised that cross cultural leadership style is needed
for individual and organisation to run their business in effective and efficient manner. Here,
leader has achieve their set goal and objectives by applying different styles of leadership. Thus,
in order to be good leader, situations need to managed by person so that proper outcome can be
achieved through decision making.
