INTRODUCTION
Management and leadership are considered as the core of an organisation since whole
works are managed through this. Leaders provide guidelines to each and every member while
managers are responsible for allocating job to work forces and looking after various other aspects
(Giacalone and Rosenfeld, 2013). The present report is based on Easy jet which is lower cost
British carrier airline whose headquarter is situated in London Luton Airport. In this project
different leadership style and its impacts on team working is going to be discussed clearly.

Difference between management and leadership :
Management Leadership
This is an activity which is conducted by the
managers so as to conduct the work of the
enterprise in an effective manner.
It can be defined as an activity of managing
things in a best possible manner.
They are having a proper control all over the
organisation and everyone has to follow
them as well.
They are having Impersonal attitude towards the
vision and goals of company.
These are the people who are appointed by the
management for guiding the employees for
performing their work in an effective
manner.

people so that they can help in attaining

Leadership tries to in-build trust in the

Management theories are implemented so as to develop the productivity as well as
quality of organisation (Pinto, 2015). Also, the managers implement various theories all together
so as to achieve better results. There are various kinds of management theories like contingency

manner (Renz and Herman, 2016). Only one leadership theory is allowed to be implemented at
one time. If Easy jet will implement a leadership theory then they can opt for Behavioural theory
of leadership or contingency theory of leadership.

Trait theory : This philosophy is saying that an individual is having special
characteristics by their birth and helps the corporation in selecting the right leader for
their firm.

On the other hand, front runner is identified from their reaction towards physical, mental
and social attributes. Thus, overall it can be said that they are known by their behaviours.
Hence, Easy jet can use these for choosing the right person who can lead their work forces
towards right direction. Apart from this, some of the management philosophies are also present
that should be emphasised by the manager of Easy jet which is mentioned below :

the ground of certain situations existing in company in-spite of focussing on other things.
System theory : This theory states that how various system impacts an employee and
how staff members give influence on systems surrounding to them.

employees.
People Oriented Leadership: In this leadership approach focus of a team leader or
division head is on supporting and guiding its team members for achieving task or goals in a
very innovative and creative style by adopting and implementing scientific business strategies.
This leadership approach will provide and eco-friendly and healthy environment for working
collectively as a whole team rather than competitively. This approach is very useful for
motivating and guiding employees as well as team members towards their roles and
responsibilities by organising conferences, workshops and cultural activities for exchanging
views, finding solution of projects or tasks and many more. This is most trusted and employee-
friendly or people-freindly leadership style which is adopted as well as followed by Easy Jet
Airways throughout their organisation.
