Introduction
Leadership is highly required to manage different operations and critical situations in companies.
There are different types of leadership in the market. Leadership is necessary to manage people
and business processes of a company (Raza, 2017).
This report will compare and contrast two leadership’s types, which are autocratic leadership and
democratic leadership through various points. It will also explain about the management of
people through an example.
A leader can work as a manager within an organization, but a manager always should be a leader
for managing different critical situations in the company.
Comparing and contrasting
A leader can manage people in an organization through his leadership ability. Leaders possess
many skills to manage different business processes of an organization, such as the ability to take
responsibility, motivating, and being visionary. In the present era, two types of leadership are
used in organizations, which are autocratic leadership and democratic leadership. In autocratic
leadership, the manager sets missions for employees and monitors them properly. In the other
hand, democratic leadership considers participation in decision-making (Bolden, 2016).
Democratic leadership might be slower than autocratic leadership because of the freestyle of
work. Workers are not having any burden. It few cases, it is good and provides better results,
such as research and development ( Cherry, 2018).
Autocratic leadership provides direct communication and provides a proper business goal to
achieve in a given period (Tseng & Levy, 2018). Both types of leadership are similar in missions
design, as they decide about their goals in starting. There is a big advantage in democratic
leadership that they have more involvement in decision-making (Clapp-Smith, et al., 2009).
Managers are authentication to employees, which makes more capable and responsible, such as
Google. Google owners are the best example of democratic leadership in which they manage
their work successfully with supportive and co-operative working style. However, democratic

1939. It was popular for developing and manufacturing printers, computers, hardware, software,
and more devices. Leaders make successful to HP, as their motivation makes employees work
hard for the organization. Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard have been founded HP in the United
States.
In the year 1954, Carly Fiorina took birth and then graduated from Stanford University. Besides,
in 1999, Fiorina worked as the CEO of HP organization. In addition to that, Fiorina is a capable
leader in HP Company. Prior to taking the CEO position at the company, she was encountering
years of a depressing time. Later then, Fiorina has started her career as a receptionist, and hence
acquired the positions of management and leader soon. Apart from this, Fiorina was an excellent
communicator as well as her speech was convincing as similar the Ex-president Bill Clinton.

Wal-Mart is famous and popular retailers in the whole world. It has 4000 stores, which are
running around the world. Mike Duke is the CEO of Wal-Mart Stores as well as president of the
company. He leads his team that is considering Wal-Mart’s mission of “saving people money so
they can live better” relevant to its clients. He has joined the company and he provides many
efforts to make a good position of the company in the market as a leader. Duke has managed
different departments of the company, such as divisions of logistics, administration, distribution,
and many more.
Conclusion
Leadership is required to manage different functions of a company and it makes many things
possible, which can be completed by a leader only. Transformational leadership is necessary to
manage employees with motivation and teamwork, as compared to positive leadership. Positive
leadership makes employees in favor of leaders and makes them more energetic for their work in
different situations works.
This report has described two leaders, which are from HP and Wal-Mart. Leaders are responsible
for good changes in the company. In addition, they can make good changes in the operations of
