Transformational leadership style is one of the most common and most effective business
leadership styles practiced within the organizations. The organizational managers tend to use the
transformational leadership style because it has yielded positive outcomes for the organizations
in many ways (Bennis & Thomas, 2002). It can be highly beneficial for an organization when the
leaders will try to motivate their employees through the application of this style. They will listen
to the views and opinions of the leaders and take actions accordingly.
Sometimes transformational leadership style can also be counterproductive as well.
Critics have noticed in some cases that the leaders and supervisors have not been able to
implement this type of leadership style properly (Bennis & Thomas, 2002). They have inflicted
their decisions on their employees and this has given rise to the interpersonal conflicts between
the leaders and the tenured employees. This is why employees need such leaders who will give
value to the words that they say (DuBrin, 2015) Thus, the counterproductive outcomes can be
avoided through the use of transformational leadership.
The international organizations also need the use of the transformational leadership. The
leaders need to control the people of different ethnic backgrounds and people from different
sections of the society with different mindset (DuBrin, 2015). In order to control them, the
leaders should treat their subordinates with compassion and patience. Without these features,
these people cannot be motivated. These transformational leaders should give value to the ideals
of different people from different ethnic backgrounds. Thus the international organizations
should be able to gain the faith of the employees.
