Individual reflection
In our college we were given a group task to create a presentation on certain topic. So, I
and my other colleagues formed a team of 4 to do this task. First of all we mutually decided that
who will lead the project (Cowan, 2014). Thus, by taking consent of all 4 I was elected as
leader. I lead the team as I was having an experience in managing group project. I was very
excited to become a leader. On other hand, my colleagues were little bit disappointed. After this,
I decided to call a meeting where we all discussed about project. We developed a plan and wrote
all activities that was required. Then, I assigned roles and responsibilities to everyone according
to their skills and abilities. We also developed a schedule in which time frame of activities was
written. It gave us insight about in what time each task will be done and by whom. Also, which
task will be done firstly and further task.
Tuckman team building theory – in this there was four steps of forming a team. They are as
follows :-
Forming – first of all a team was built a by us. I was involved in building it. in this each one of
us was contacted through E mails. I was very excited about other members. We all were curious
to know about each other. I introduced myself with others. (Vicary, Young and Hicks, 2017).
Storming – here, team members starts to introduce with each other. I worked with each other by
working in natural way (Tuckman model. 2018). I assigned roles and responsibilities to them. I
also ensured that conflicts did not occur so that their performance is not impacted. I created
strong relations with them.
Norming – I was involved in solving issues if it occurred. I was the leader of my team. I ensured
that members respect and treat each other equally. Also, I helped others in completing their task
so that goals are attained in specified time frame.
Performing – in this members put more efforts in attaining goals. I also put efforts by working
in creative way. I was also an important member of team. The people who join or leave team
does not effect on performance of team.
Adjourning – This is last stage in which team formed in broken down. This is because some
team only exist for fixed time period (Davenport, 2015). I build strong relation with members so
it was difficult for me to work with others.
After the completion of presentation, I analyzed several things and came to a conclusion.

What went well- I analyzed that by developing schedule and assigning roles it was easy for us
to develop presentation. Each member played their role in effective way and completed their task
on time. also, I evaluated that the schedule was properly followed and each task was completed
on time. moreover, the members helped each other in completing their task. I also took their help
in decision making process (Tanaka, Okamoto and Koide, 2018). In this way communication
was done in proper way. At several times member was allowed to work freely it helped in
completing task. In this way presentation was made.
What went wrong – I analyzed that while completing presentation there was many problems
that occurred. This was because of ineffective coordination between team members. Also, I
noticed that there was lack of communication of me with my colleagues. As I was not able to
take follow up of their task. This affected our schedule and we have to complete task quickly.
this lead to utilize resources in ineffective way.
One’s contribution- while producing presentation every member contributed in own way. This
can be observed by taking feedback of teachers. We were having four members in team. Sam
contributed by searching data from internet and sorted it according to topic. Harry contributed by
segregating data and selecting only the relevant one (Brown, 2016). Peter contributed by
arranging content and developing PPT. at last my contribution was to assign role and help them
to complete their task. I also motivated them and guided on how to do and in what way it can be
done properly. Moreover, I directed them to work in creative way so that with minimum use of
resources and within less time, project can be completed. They used their analytical skills and
abilities to coordinate with each other. They developed strong relations and worked effectively.
Thus, in this way by working in team we completed project.
Other’s contribution- in completing project other also contributed in their own way. Here, I
noticed that the friend of Harry and Sam contributed by providing resources of producing PPT.
other than this, I analyzed that family of Peter contributed in using their vehicles. It was use for
us to visit to other place and work in group.
By working with team members, I evaluated their overall performance. So, I decided to
write down each one experience that will help me in finding whether they can work in future or
not. I came to a conclusion that there was lack of bonding within team (Vicary, Young and
Hicks, 2017). This shows that team working skills was lacking. So, it can affect their
performance in future. Another thing that I realized that decision making skills was very good.

They were able to take quick decisions. Thus, it will be useful for them to enhance their
performance. With help of it they can become a good manager. Other than this, I realized that
members have to improve their time management skills so that they can complete task in given
time. for this they can develop schedule. It will be beneficial for long term. I also have to
improve my leadership skill so that I can lead multiple team and become a great leader.
