Task 1 : Summary of the TED Talk and the article
The TED talk is basically based on how a student improved overall study habits by
setting goals and managing her time in an effective way. The speaker tells that she would get
distracted while studying every single day and then she came across a video about how to study
better. She was fascinated by a particular tip named Promodoro method. It involves deciding a
task and estimating the amount of time that would be required to complete the same. The speaker
tells the audience to set some goals and then strive to achieve them in an effective way. On the
other hand, the article on Time Management is about how can one achieve more by doing less
and managing their time appropriately. Apart from this, the article also explains how one should
value their time and can view time differently.
Task 2 : Reflection
There are different methods that I adopt in order to manage my time effectively at
workplace. I keep a time check in order to know which one of the assigned tasks takes how much
time. This helps me in allocating my time to different activities in an effective manner. Apart
from this, I also set deadlines for each of the tasks so that I am able to keep a track of their
progress and make sure that they are completed within the deadline. There are various
applications that employees can use in order to manage their time more efficiently. I have
installed paid versions of some apps that help me in controlling my work and monitor the
progress of different tasks.
Having a to do list always comes in handy and there is no confusion about the daily
agenda at the workplace. I maintain a to-do list in order to remain motivated and focused in my
work. This not only helps me with managing my time efficiently but also keeps me on the right
track. I prioritize my tasks wisely so that I am able to manage my time successfully without any
issues. Not only this, I keep evaluating the list in order to make sure that the tasks are prioritized
based on their importance as well as deadlines. I also some times use a time management matrix
to make sure that the tasks are completed well within time.
There are a few concepts which are discussed in the article and I can apply to my work
life. This is because if time is managed effectively, it provides access to various opportunities
that can help an individual in learning so much. The managers at the workplace should make
sure that they use the time available in the most effective way in order to get the desired output.

This means that if time is managed properly, more output can be achieved by putting in less
inputs. There are various techniques that can help in managing time effectively and thus, increase
overall productivity of employees at the workplace.
