Trait theory
Trait theory can also be referred as theory of virtue that specifies certain
virtues to be possessed by a leader .
According to this theory it is stated that there are certain basic personality traits
that are acquired by a leader which makes them different from all the other
followers in an organisation (Annibal and Price, 2014).
These are inborn traits and can be utilised in guiding in different situations.
Based on this the management reviews the performance and actions of all the
employees to judge the potential of leadership in employees.

Behaviourism Theory
This theory of leadership is contrary to trait theory because according to this
theory the leaders are not born they are build by training them effectively.
This helps in developing certain leadership qualities that are required to
become a leader. Therefore, anyone can be a leader if he/she has different
qualities of leadership and management (Berkovich, 2014).
According to this theory, it is very necessary for an organisation to provide
proper environment so that they are able to implement their ideas and
strategies to be an effective leader.

Similarities and Differences between
Trait theory and Behaviourism
The main similarity between the two theories is that both the theories
emphasizes on identifying various actions that are responsible for being a
leader.
Behaviourism is also a kind of Trait theory that focuses on the fact that it is
very necessary for a leader to exhibit certain habits and personality traits that
can make him different from others (Björkman, 2007).
On contrary to this behaviourism is a democratic theory that believes in the
fact that leaders are not inborn and can be created through proper
development and training.

But according to trait theory it can be stated that leaders are born by birth
and has some or the other qualities that makes him different from others.
For example there are two persons. One is born in a family which is weak
willed and people taker advantage of them (Chapman, 2014).
But the other person is born in a family that has powerful executive
leaders.
Hence, according to behaviourism theory the first person will develop
submissiveness while the other one will be assertive.

Why Trait and behavioural theory
I choose those theories because I think that
leaders have the proper responsibility and it
is very helpful person in attaining the goals
and objectives. Leaders have to amke the
proper plans and have to do the proper
management so that they can do the proper
activities. Along with this they can help in
