the business corporations with a hefty sum. They have to withstand a large amount of
pressure and the high compensation package helps in encouraging them (DuBrin, 2015).
They can deliver the exceptional results for the corporation owing to their high salary. The
salary that is paid to business leaders can be said to be justified on account of the fact that
there rests power along with responsibility with them. They help in setting the strategy of a
company that helps in delivering the higher performance for a company.
A leader in the event of displaying the sense of humour can be instrumental in
building a stronger culture in an organization. It can help the employees in giving vent to
their creativity and in negotiating the better deals. The leaders have to face incredible amount
of pressure within the framework of an organization and sense of humour of the leader can
help in reducing the stress of the situations in the workplace (De Vries, Bakker-Pieper &
Oostenveld, 2010). The organizational culture which incorporates the element of humour
helps in making an organization more resilient. It helps in facilitating the social bonding and
increases the trust in between the employees.
A person who does not have any family members in the leadership positions can
pursue the career as a successful business leader. A person who has the self-awareness along
with the decisiveness can evolve to become a successful leader in the future. An individual
utilising his strengths can evolve to become a successful leader. A leader who acts in a fair

2015). An individual can effectively pursue a career as the business leader in the event of
being capable of winning the respect of his team that can be achieved with the help of

An example of leader displaying good cognitive intelligence was the manager of
American Apparel Inc under whom I had worked. He was devoid of the practical intelligence
that can help him in looking at the future of the company in the long term. He did not know
how to implement the strategies that can help the company in rising above the competition.
He was endowed with the cognitive intelligence that helped in inspiring the sales people
within the organization. The manager knew how to utilise the capabilities of the employees
but he lacked the foresight of moving the company forward. He lacked the element of
practical intelligence that can help him in the creation of successful strategies for American
Apparel Inc that can help the company in earning profits.
A leader having the traits of the charismatic leadership can help in inspiring the entry-
level workers like the cashiers. The leader by displaying the elements of the charismatic
leadership can help in gaining admiration of the followers. A charismatic leader can
communicate in the effective manner that can help the entry-level workers in rising above in
the organizational hierarchy. The charismatic leader can pay attention to the emotional needs
of the employees that can help in engaging the employees of a company. The social cues of
the charismatic leader can make the workers feel comfortable and it can augment the
efficiency of their performance in the company.
