individual from the employee to a leadership position. The project also attains the learning of
the leadership skills that are required by an individual so as to acquire the leadership role
without promoting the biasness nature or known as the favoritism. The leadership has been
defined as the attribute of an individual or the characteristics of an individual who is
responsible for directing the orders to team to achieve the goal of the team (Forrester, 2013).
The prime aspects of the leadership define the role that involves the leader to influence the
team according to the different kind of changes that occur in a hospitality management. The
healthcare sector has become more vulnerable in the recent time. Thus the need of an
effective leader is vital as the place handles and takes care of the children and the patients
which are vital to be taken care of in a very gentle manner (Stanley, 2011). Thus the
healthcare needs leaders who will possess collaborative nature and will be able to work with
the teams of the healthcare organization in any kind of related work in achieving the goal.
The leaders need to utilize the policies and tactics to get the effective results out from the
team and also motivate others staffs to work for achieving the goal (Hancox et al., 2014).
Hence the healthcare professionals are held responsible for looking after the standards of the
care and also evaluating the best care delivery methods. Therefore the, training for acquiring
the leadership skills are important foe the healthcare professionals which enables them to
acquire skills of communication, empowerment that are patient centric and also
communications with the patients in an efficient way. This will enhance the qual9ty of the

Significance of this project:
The significance of this project is, it will help to grow the knowledge of effective
leadership in Town-view health and rehab centre which ensures high quality of health care
system and helps to effectively manage the efficiency of the health organization. In order to
become a good leader, the person must avoid the act of favoritism as it shows the practice of
unfair preferential to an individual or group over the expense of another (Bian, Huang&
Zhang, 2015). Practicing such behavior affects the engagement and motivation of an
employee and raised disrespect towards the leader. However, if such act of favoritism left
unaddressed it can break the team apart and hurt the company’s bottom line. The leader will
gain adequate knowledge from this project in order achieve high quality of care, strengthen
employee morale and achieve job satisfaction.
In this project the following qualities can be learned, which inherent good leadership
qualities:
a) Listening: A good leader becomes most productive when they seek opinion from the team
to retain the decision making activities. The employees who are actively involved in the
decision making activities on the projects has greater job satisfaction and dedication towards
their work (Green, 2016). The team members feel appreciated and learn to respect the leader
who shows respect in return. Listening does not comes easily, to understand the problems
and processes in the health centre it very important to habituate the habit of listening,
according to the Greek philosopher Epictetus, "We have two ears and one mouth so that we
can listen twice as much as we speak" (Lunn, 2019). The act of listening improves the
productivity and output towards the job and increase efficiency.

b) Mission: The leader must follow the organizational mission because the mission is one of
the reason that leads to the existence of an organization. The dedication towards the
organization would reflects on the organization’s service to provide high-quality and
compassionate medical care (Aarons et al., 2015). Having a clear sense of mission is the
crucial guiding leadership decision and choosing between alternatives.
c) Vision: In healthcare industries it is important to have a vision because so many challenges
and setbacks can easily mired in a minute and may lose focus from the task. A good leader
will able to manage the challenges to step back and focuses on the loop holes. The medical
leaders who have lean facilities have regular lean meting to talk about different good and
wrong aspects and initiating the effective measures to improve steps to reach forward
(McKibben, Umstead& Borders, 2017). The vision of a good leader can steer everyone in
right direction from the aspects providing best service to the patients, staff and hospital.
d) Integrity: As a nursing leader in a health organization it is their duty to holds tightly the
moral compass of the health organization. The leader needs to possess a high level of
integrity and honesty towards its followers (Mannix, Wilkes & Daly, 2013). The leaders
should have a fair outlook and their judgments should be based on the facts and logic and the
act of favoritism should be avoided.
e) Empathy: It is considered as the basic human quality which is often missing from the
workplace. The empathy can be contagious as the healthcare setting often emphasize greatly
with patients but neglect the same towards the coworkers. The empathy and emotional
intelligence is the key traitors of leadership which is overlooked frequently (Serrat, 2017).
The leaderswho is emphatic who has the capability to the sense other’s feeling is much more
effective communicator and team builder and has the potential to build and manages the
effective changes.

The leadership skills plays an important role towards the growth of an organization.
Leadership is not a traditionally taught in medical schools and colleges (Nancarrow et al.,
2013). The requirement of medicines is a critical thinking skills is analogous towards the
effective leadership. The pleasing personality of a leader always attracts their followers.
The importance of effective leadership in the organization will justify the following
concerns:
i) Initiates action in the health centre: It will enhance the communication policies and plans
to the subordinates from where the execution begins. The effective quality of leader influence
the followers to decide how the efficiently and effectively the organizational target would be
met.
ii) Motivates other co-workers: The leader plays an important role in concern’s working
from the group members. This will help to get the effective association from the group
members and subordinates. Explaining the respective roles of the subordinates and group
members clearly will help to achieve the goals effectively( Manning et al., 2015). This would
also create confidence for the group members to open up the issues regard to complaints and
problems.
iii) Attainment of the common goals: The purpose and need of effective leadership will
help to guide the group members to work towards the attainment of organizational goals in

Iv) Team building skills: A good leader should not dominate the inter group conversations
and ensure that the other members of the team should feel free speaking up. An efficient team
leader must trust their team members, challenge them to face the problems and motivate them
to cope with the difficult situations (Aga, Noorderhaven, & Vallejo, 2016). During making a
difficult situation, the leader and their members should courage to make right decision for the
organization which require a high degree of emotional intelligence.
Significance of the project to the practicum site:
The practicum part of the project describes the situation in which a currently working
certified assistant in the nursing group depicts the requirement of the efficient leaders to meet
the objectives of the organization by gaining the knowledge in the field of transition of an
employee to the leadership post. The significance of the project carries the knowledge on the
leadership requirements of the Healthcare management (Daly et al., 2014). The requirement
for learning the techniques for becoming an efficient leader while transitioning from an
employee has become necessary so as to tackle and efficiently manage the major issues and
concerns regarding the healthcare delivery challenges that are faced by the Town-view
healthcare centre. The project is needed to help learning about the required attributes that will
develop and improve the factor of the effective leadership and the skills that will help in the
transition of the employees from the employee level in the organization to the leader level of
the organization.
The other vital aspect of the project is the matter of the favoritism during the
transition of an employee into a leadership role. The learning of the leadership role in an
effective manner also includes the matter of favoritism that has been a very common issue in

the organizations for years (Dignam et al., 2013). This will improve the process of the care
delivery to the patients with the intervention of the leaders of the healthcare organization with
leadership strategies, Initiatives on the health policies, quality improvement methods
including the patient safety tools. Saleh et al. (2018) describes the leadership which is
effective and efficient in a manner in the leadership skill which is required to attain the best
level of the care and also motivate and strengthen the morale of the employee and achieve
satisfaction in the job.
Description of the project implementation and relevance to work:
The project is relevant to the work as the employee works in the certified and
Healthcare and nursing management assistant where the requirement of the employee directly
states about the scenario where the employee needs to consider his transformation from the
employee part to the leadership part within the organization in the near future (Shatto, Meyer
& Delicath, 2016). The employees of the hhealthcare organization can be expected well as to
be the future leaders in the organization on the basis of their experience gained and gathered
during their course of the nurse. The employees or the nurses become more aware about the
effects and the vulnerabilities that change in different situations in the organization which
will be able to help the leaders who have transformed from nurses to handle and mitigate the
problems that has arouse within the healthcare organization.
The rising issues regarding the qualities, greater rates in the changes, shortage found
in the workforce are the reason that is why the effective leadership and skills of leadership in
the clinic is important and necessary (Shulman, 2015). Therefore this project is appropriate
for helping the employees of the healthcare organizations to meet and match with the
expectations of the healthcare services. The paper has suggested all the compelling needs like
the enhancement of the scopes that are in line with the HSAD curriculum that describes the
