Reflection based on tuckman theory:
Tuckman's theory means the way in which a team implement their task by forming own
team that helps to complete defined project. Theory is mainly related to team building challenge
and activities. Such that teams moves through following steps that are 'forming, storming,
norming, performing and adjourning (5 Stages of Bruce Tuckman’s Theory).
The stages of the Tuckman are defined below:
Forming: It is the first stage in team development and the members behave
independently even they do not know each other well nor trust them. For example, my teacher
asked me to prepare a PPT along with a group of 6 members. At this stage we have discussed
that how this file will be made along with the goals, timeline, individual roles and the skills
required by team members, interests (Tuckman: Forming, Storming, Norming, Performing
model). This stage focus on comparing the work and making relatioship.
Storming: It is the second stage of team development. In this stage the team member
start addressing the task and suggesting the ideas (Bonebright, 2010). Members can focus or
decide the plan that is less effective in completing the task. In the same way, when I met my
team for the first time, I was very nervous but later we have introduced ourselves to the members
and got the opinion about the character and integrity. At the time of deciding the plan few
members were disagreed about completing the tasks and raise their concerns. As I was the team
leader so took a decision to knew that few members will not be agree on everything. So I treated
them normally at that time and also tried to solve their conflicts, if possible.
Norming: This is the third stage of development, at this stage people start noticing the
work of the members and also appreciating them (Topaloglu, McDonald and Hunt, 2018).
Similarly, I was also taking help from my team members so that we know each other and build
better understanding that helps to deliver the project in defined tenure. As a team leader I also
have to work hard with my team so that do not think that every effort for completing this task is
done by them.
Performing: It is the fourth stage of the development where, every group strive to reach.
At this stage me and my team members were very confident, motivated and familiar enough with
the task (Müller, and et.al, 2018). Therefore, there were many conflicts between our team but I
always try to solve the same so that our work do not affected. As a result, we support each other
by sharing their views and delegate the responsibilities as per our skills (strength).

Adjourning: The fifth stage of tuckman theory in which task comes to an end and team
disbands (Whittingham, 2018 ). This stage is also known as mourning that means members have
grown close, performed all the activities together and now their experienced is over. So, with the
help of effective team building, we are able to deliver the project in define time,but at the same
time, I was not feeling good because it was the time to say good bye to entire team. Also, in such
a short period everyone of us become familiar to each other and that is why, it is not easy to
adjourn easily.
