1ORGANIZATIONAL BEHAVIOR
Introduction
The assignment helps in the analyzing the organizational issue which was faced by me by
becoming a team leader in the respective warehouse wherein I was working. The circumstance
under which I was working was stressful and it impacted the overall effectiveness of the different
tasks which were performed by me and my entire team members as well. The main aim and
purpose of the assignment is to identify the issue in a in-depth manner, analysis of the issue
along with resolution of the issue with the usage of relevant concepts are required to be done
appropriately which will be suitable for improving the situation to a great extent.
Identification of the Issue
I have been working in the respective company for the past two years, wherein I joined as
the warehouse employee and then I was being promoted as team leader of the warehouse. My
duty as a team leader was to take care that all employees are working appropriately through
managing the inventory by entering materials in management system while it arrives and while
removing it as well. However, it was being noticed that all employees did not follow instructions
strictly and in the second year, it was not correct. There was variance of 5%, however, when the
production manager checked, it was found that we were short of two required materials due to
which the delivery to the customers were delayed.
From the respective instance, I understood that there were laziness among few employees
and there were different instances when I caught them lazing around. There were two employees
who were not happy with the job including the management and me. One day, I yelled at them
and one of them immediately left the job and the other remained. I feel that due to my faults,

there were different mistakes that were affecting the production of the firm and morale of
employees who were working under me.
Analysis
In the analysis part, the main aspect which was learnt by me is that there were few issues
faced by the employees and myself and its impact was seen on the entire productivity of the
company that declined. It was being noticed that there were employees who performed the job
with complete casualness and it did not bother them whether the work got finished in a complete
manner or not. As a team leader, it was also highly difficult for me in noticing and keeping a
track on all the employees whether they are performing the job seriously or not. Therefore, from
the analysis, it has been found that it was the mistake of both team leader and the employees in
making the critical mistakes in the units related to production impacting the profitability of the
company negatively as well.
Resolution of Organizational Issues
In such scenario, the organizational issues need to be resolved in an efficient manner
which will be suitable for the company in improving the growth and managing the retention of
customers and employees in a positive manner as well. The different aspects are described as
follows:
Communication- It is the first and foremost key element that is needed to be
implemented by the team member and the employees as it will be beneficial in managing the
different tasks successfully. Through this, the employees will be able to speak up their mind
regarding any query with their superior and get it solved (Van Knippenberg & Hogg, 2018). The

employees can be experiencing increase in morale which will be suitable for generating high
efficiency in the tasks which are performed by them. Listening to the employees regarding their
concerns and taking them seriously is the major element which will be making them feel that
they are valuable part of the company and they are being cared (Tasselli, Kilduff & Landis,
2018).
Rewards and Recognition- It is the second most important element that is needed to be
implemented by the company for their subordinates as it will be capable of making the
employees feel that their work is valued. It gives a rise in their productivity and satisfaction and
they are always motivated to maintain and improve their good work. Through Maslow’s
Hierarchy Theory, the basic needs and requirements of employees are needed to be met which
will be capable of praising the employees for the outstanding kind of performance in the
workplace (Peltokorpi, Allen & Froese, 2017).
Stress and Time Management- It is the other critical element in the respective business
of inventory as while maintaining the inventory in the proper manner, the team leader should be
capable of calming themselves before trying to handle the team. There are deep techniques like
deep breathing which will be capable of reducing the hot temper and helps in body relaxation
(Oswald et al., 2020). Moreover, the team leader needs to provide training to subordinates
regarding completing the tasks on stipulated time frame as time management skills are the key
element that is needed to be maintained by the superiors and it is learnt by subordinates (Gagné,
2018).
Conflict Management- As a team leader, it is the core duty to manage and solve the
problems of the different employees through collaborating them with one another (Gagné, Deci

& Ryan, 2018). Corporation is one of the key element which works as a magic in managing the
employees and their concerns effectively. It is the duty of the team leader to choose whether to
become supportive or assertive in a particular situation and handle the scenario effectively as
well (McShane & Glinow, 2017).
Self-Awareness- It is the last and final element that is needed to be implemented for
resolving the managerial issues in the workplace. By bringing awareness of one’s self in the
workplace, the superiors are able to identify who they are as the employee and using the
respective information, leaders can play with their strengths while understanding ideas of
developmental opportunity (Gelfand et al., 2017).
Conclusion
Therefore, it can be concluded that proper communication, motivation, recognition along
with handling the conflicts and stress are key aspects which are needed to be followed for
improving the scenario of the workplace. It will be capable of gaining competitiveness in the
market and achieve the profitability within the short span of time as well.
