INTRODUCTION
Every organisation need to recruit right person for a job. Virgin Media may appoint
worker on the basis of their skills and knowledge. Companies have their own recruitment
process, they use it at the time of recruitment. Virgin Media is the fastest growing concern
which needs to appoint worker for promoting their product in the London's market. Team
working and good management motive employees towards their job and assist the company
to meet its objective.
TASK 1
1.1
Appointment of right person for a right job is the important factor in every
organisation. Creative ideas, skills, knowledge are the key element of worker which company
needs in every person at the time recruitment. Virgin Media has its own recruitment
procedures which it follow at the time of selection. Firstly, HR conducting aptitude test just
to check their basic knowledge.(Offstein and et.al, 2010) In last documentation round if
person is selected. Virgin Media is going to recruit Store manager for promoting its product
in the market. Organisation is planning to appoint 10 new store managers to develop their
product in a world wide. Position description for new hiring are as follows:

Government frame some rules and regulation for the recruitment of person. At the
time of appointment of candidates for a particular job profile Marketing Manager of Virgin
Media need to follow those rules and regulation. It may reduce risk of company. Some
various types of laws are like Equal pay act, Equal employment act etc. In equal pay act
organisation needs to pay equal salary to male and female candidates. In other side, they
should provide equal employment to both. Discrimination is not possible on the basis of sex.
(WestBow Press.Stubbs and et.al, 2014) Give equal benefit to all age group member. Impact
of legal, regulatory and ethical consideration to recruitment are as align below:
Equal pay act- Virgin Media is bound to follow rules and regulation of this act.
According to this act company have to pay equal remuneration to both male and
female workers as a store manager. If job profile, location, qualification, experience,
efforts all are same then company must pay same salary to both of them(Flint Jr, B.B,
2011).
Equal employment act- In this act, organisation should not discrimination on the basis
of sex. Virgin Media must allot same work to them if they have same qualification
and knowledge(Peterson, 2011).
Equality regulation- Virgin Media provide equal benefit to every person working in it
whether young or old citizen employee. If company not follow rules of this act it may
cause bad effect on its existence. At the time of recruitment as a store manager give
equal benefit to them.

After completing all task, Marketing manager start selection procedure. In selection
process, firstly the firm may short the eligible candidates on the basis of their qualification
and experiences. Then conducting final interviews to check their confidence level,
communication skills and know about their likes or dislikes(Chen and et.al, 2014). After
completing documentation round selection process is complete and give joining letter to them
as store manager. Selection process of store manager in a Virgin Media is defined below:

Conducted aptitude test- After receiving resumes, manager will be conducting
aptitude test for them. It include written test, MCQs, their qualification background
related question and basic question to check their general knowledge
Shortlisted- On the basis of their qualification and experience, the company may
short the candidate and call them for a further process.
Interviews- After this, Virgin Media conducts interviews. This process will help in
checking the communication skills, confidence level, way of talking and smart
thinking which are necessary to have in a store manager. In this, the Marketing
Manager will ask question about them, family background, personal likes or dislikes,
higher qualification and their previous job profile.
Select or appoint right person- Virgin Media need to select right person for the
organisation. Provide offer and appointment letter to them(Heath, 2012).

As a marketing manager in a company I have made planning and strategies to appoint
new staff. In order to promote product of Virgin Media in London's market, i need to recruit
new members as a store manager because there is only two staff members for the same
profile. Firstly, I collected documents of a candidates and shortlisted them on the basis of
their performance in a previous company and higher qualification. After receiving resumes I
conducted a aptitude test for them including written test, MCQ based questions and some
general knowledge based. Then I send these candidates in front of senior staff for a final
interview. Receiving feedback from senior member for each and select if they are capable. I
engaged in sales promotion programme of Virgin Media, so that I have a responsibility to
manage development of new product in a London's local market with help of store managers.
Without any procedure company may appoint wrong person. Some reasons are like resume
not checked, qualification not mention clearly, candidates not perform well in aptitude test
but selected for the final interview by mistake and communication skills. It my responsibly to
cross check these things after this select employees(Beeley, 2012).

Leader plays an important role in an organisation. Manager of the company must have
leadership quality. The main aim of the leader is motivate employees to meet goals or
objective of the company. It has different phases which effect positive as well as negative.
Virgin Media needs new innovation and creative ideas for producing goods and promoting
them in a London's local market(Wm. B. Eerdmans Publishing.Winn, 2013). In this, the
leader helps the organisation by motivating employees toward job. Some skills important to
have in leader are as aligned below:
Communication skills- Through these skills, he can easily interact with worker and
improve his relation with other team members. Leader provide proper guidance to
their employees for achieving goals of the company and put it on a profitable
position.
Responsible for new division- Virgin Media uses new division to maintain its
performance in market for which company need leadership quality in a person. If
person plays role in a company as a manager only he never achieved target and
reduce performance of the company.
Motivates employees- He must have a quality to motivates other its a big
responsibility as a leader. Worker wants motivation towards work at the time of
employment because they plays a important role in production process of the
company. It gives support to workers to increase level of production capacity and

incentives, healthcare services and proper guidance. It may increase performance or quality
of work of their employees if they get motivated by managers. Polite behaviour towards them
and after understand their problem provide proper advice to them. Manager or supervisor try

Whenever, workers are stuck in a big problem and some need help then company have to stay

objectives or goals by Virgin Media are as defined below:
Offering good salary package

In order to complete work on time, It is necessary to maintain good relation with
leader and member. It motivates to both worker as well leader. He has a responsibility to
complete task on time and put company in a profitable situation. For complete task on time
he may distribute work in team. Every team member distribute their work equally and wants
to improve their performance regarding fulfil desired goals or objectives. Whenever, conflict
is arising between the member it may solve by the m,manager only. In this context, leader
have to hear problem of every person and try to give best possible advice on that. He uses
approach to reduce conflict between them and manage his team.
On the other hand, workers also have to cooperate with their leader and follow the
