INTRODUCTION
There are certain characteristic of a good business leader that is very important for the
purpose of performing job roles. Present report is divided in two parts where the first part is
based on discussion of the some of characteristics that a good business leader must posses
(Banerjee, Bhattacharyya and Bose, 2017). Second part is based on analysing the diversity at
workplace that is related with analysing the benefits of having a diverse workplace for modern
business.

Every good business leader must posses some of the characteristics that are very
important for the purpose of performing their assigned job roles and responsibilities. In present
scenario these special traits are discussed that is very important for the objective of development
of such traits for the objective of becoming strong leader. Some of such traits are mentioned
below:
Vision: A true leader has to develop a vision for the future, if leader is planning for short term
then they may be aimless or lacking presence of a real long term goals. A good leader must work
towards cultivating a habit of planning for future.
Optimism: it is important for leader to able to motivate and inspire others. For this it is necessary
to posses upbeat attitude and be optimistic (Laureani and Antony, 2017). For this there is need
of optimistic approach to focus on the positive and have a hopeful attitude for the future. A
leader with use of a optimistic approach required to work towards encouraging a good attitude
among various staff members in the organisation.
Strong communication skills: Leader has to work towards instructing subordinates for their
work, correction of their mistakes, providing them with required inspiration and taking timely
feedbacks. All this requires effective communication skills (Tuckey, Li and Chen, 2017). A
leader has to transform their ideas and thoughts to be able to effectively communicate with their
subordinates. Listening is a very important aspect along with speaking for a leader.
Confidence: A leader has to work towards ensuring that a true leader has to posses high amount
of self awareness so that they are able to work towards being aware of their abilities. In situation
of stress and crisis confident leader has to work towards operating of strength and assurance to

demonstrate a excellent leadership approach towards managing the work assigned in course of

Adaptability: there is no single leadership style that can be applied in all places and all times. In
different times a leader may need some different approaches for managing teams. The
expectations and needs of a individual are also varying with time. For being effective a leader
has to respond to some of the circumstances so that they are able to deal with the situation by
adapting to it. A leader must focus on using of a inflexible style of leadership.
From above discussed six traits it can be said that I posses communication skill as a trait
that is helping me in development of my personality as a effective leader. It has helped me and is
going to assist in future for having timely and proper communication with my all the teammates.
