Corporate strategies and management practices have been affected by the current VUCA
environment and its influence on business approaches to planned and unplanned change
VUCA environment involves four terms which involves volatility, uncertainty,
complexity and ambiguity. It basically describes the condition of unpredictable change, constant
change that exists in certain business and industries(Elsana, 2021).
VUCA focuses and demands that organization should avoid outdated approaches to leadership
and management. Due to COVID pandemic, the organizations are focusing to rethink their
service and products portfolios and are pursuing large-scale organizational restructuring, digital
transformation and reinventing supply chains. In context to TFL, the company needs to change
its management process from traditional to new business practices. Nowadays, organizations are
characterized through their VUCA environment. Due to unpredictable and new environment, its
impossible to predict opportunities and threats(McQuaid, 2019).
Due to changing world of management, organizations and stakeholders are confronted with the
VUCA world which leads to requirement of interventions and strategies. The corporate
strategies and management practices are highly affected due to VUCA and this leads to
managing the situation and need to understood every aspect. The organizations need to build best
approaches to deal with the reality of volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity with
open mind. The organizations might take time to adapt learning organizations with
transformational leaders. Each stakeholder can get benefit from approaches and can contribute to
strategic and organizational flexibility. In context to TFL, the company's uncertainty and
ambiguity factors are less than 50 % as per the reports of Fair value measurements. Due to these
factors, the corporates faces difficulty to deal with Volatility, Comparatively and Complexity.
In addition to that, various infrastructure and manufacturing industries are preparing themselves
to deal with VUCA environment(Katz, 2021).

Planned change involves changes that arises when employees and managers make continuous
effort to change in response to a particular issue whereas unplanned change occurs
spontaneously and on random basis without any intention on part of employees and managers of
facing a issue. VUCA has a major influence on business approaches to planned and unplanned
changes. The VUCA has a major impact on how business and leaders solves problem, make
decisions, innovate for change and handles risk. In context to TFL, VUCA helps business leaders
to solve problems and make decisions towards the future(Park, 2018).The VUCA creates an
understanding of how business tackle with current situations and how it can create an impact in
future scenarios. It context to management leaders, VUCA means being more flexible and agile
in the face of change. A VUCA leadership approach assists the leaders to look forward and think
of all possibilities in a challenging scenario rather than relying on set outcomes(LeFevre, 2019).
It creates an understanding of how business has to deal with planned and unplanned
changes and how its business leaders faces consequences for actions(Stanley, 2020). It also
affects the overall operations of organization if management leaders are not able to cope up with
the changes. In order to face these changes, business organizations need to build strategies
according to the uncertainty and unplanned scenarios(Mathews, 2017).In context to TFL, it
helped the company to understand the various challenges that involved uncertainty, complexity,
ambiguity and volatility that helped the organisation to deal with the various internal and
external factors that effected the company's operations and created hurdles in achievement of
organizational goals.The organizations need to move their mindset on relying on certain
outcomes and think beyond all the possibilities in a challenging scenario. Organizations and
leaders need to understand the impact all the VUCA factors impact on general situations and
conditions.
