Introduction
This particular assignment is focused on how lean project management can help in building
suburb and infrastructure, and project management practices and processes can be applicable and
helpful in construction management. How project management processes help attain construction
and project management of building a suburb using the guidance of PMBOK guidance. This
particular assignment is applicable over the objective, where such project management
processes, in different activities involved such as choosing the suburb, or choosing the builder
are some of the important parts of management should be included in the process of construction.

1. Select and explain the project management processes (either from PMBOK or
PRINCE2 or a combination of any best practices you have learned in this unit) that
can help you:
The project management processes involved in construction management or choosing the suburb
or the builder is quite important to note here. The project management process in the guidance of
PMBOK, is described by 5 groups of management such as Initiation, planning, execution,
monitoring, and maintenance is important to note here that there are total 47 processes involved
in all these 5 groups of project management, hence it is important to understand the fact here that
how these project management processes and combinations can be helpful in application of these
project.
1. Choose the suburb and decide the land size
In the choosing the suburb and the land size, here under the first group of project managing
project charter is a crucial step in the process, it is because project charter chart out all the
important parts in the construction under priority basis, for example in the construction process,
it is important to mark the blueprint and contour of the land upon which construction will be
going one, hence this step will be on priority before construction can start. Choosing the size of
the land for the construction of the suburb is also inclusive of the project charter, and hence
these steps should be involved in the initiation process of the project charter.

Furthermore if we talk about the next group of the project management there are processes such
as scope management processes and risk management plan are involved and used for the
construction of the suburb. Here, if we talk about the significance of the project charter, it will
help include the size of the land and to check whether the requirements for which the suburb is
been build are fulfilled by the quality of the soil or note. The size of the layout where the number
of rooms and other needed requirements will be according to the need of the client. If the total
number of members in the family for whom it is been build are more, then, in this case, the
selected land will be according to it (Brewer, 2012).
In selecting the land and setting out the layout of the house, it is important to check the quality of
soil, as to lose soils are not applicable to be considered in shaping the house. Loose soil is weak
for the construction purpose; hence it is important to note that the quality requirements should be
considered according to the construction needs. The quality product checklist is helpful here in
the planning purpose, which can check the quality of the soil which is been used for

2012).

choice of the land for the purpose of the construction and the product quality checklist, it is
important to be included in the project management processes, because the quality management
will help construction to remain up to the mark in terms of the quality of the product such as
bars, cement, and other important construction materials. Here in the next group of the project
management plan, risk management is crucial to be involved, because this plan is important to
reflect upon the needs of the land used, and risk management plan helps control and monitor the
risks involved during the construction (Nasir, 2015).
In a civil engineering project, the land is a crucial part and an important aspect of construction. It
is because the land is the part of the structure, which takes up all the load of the house, hence in
the construction purposes, quality of the materials and quality of the soil of the land take up a

In the earlier part, we have discussed the importance of the construction and the section of the

be tested and will help in choosing the project chart (Hegazy, 2013).

here, in this case, because it can help in requesting the change in a labor or the raw material
useful, once the policies are set and construction starts. In the construction processes, in
Australia, and each country has a set standard of the raw materials used for the construction
purpose, hence client needs to check the whether the standard of the raw material builders uses in
its previous project with the standard of equipment it uses, are according to the standardization of
process of PMBOK or not, if not then in such case change or choosing a builder in middle of the
construction process will be helped by processes such as change request.

c. Identify the stakeholders for the project
During the selection of the stakeholders, it is quite important to note that the scope management
plan will be considered in the selection and identification of the stakeholders. Stakeholders are
the one who is effective to the profit and loss over the construction, hence the scope with which
the construction project is going on will be considered for the stakeholder and its identification
for numerous risks which can be avoided through the correct stakeholders.
The quality management plan is also useful in identifying the stakeholders, as during choosing
process of raw material suppliers, it is important to consider such planning processes and the
quality of the product use should be included also.
In the process of risk management, it is used, as risk management processes or plan helps
manage the risks involved in construction such as financial risks, and other risks such as
supplier risk and raw material quality risks.

2. What are the factors that will influence the design and layout of your dream home?
Product and budget: It is important to note that the selected land is affected by the budget set
by the client. The layout of the dream is also affected by the nature of the product. The layout is
established according to the nature of the product. It is important to note that the nature and the
usage of the house are also affected by the layout. It is important to note here that the selected

Explain the project management processes you used to determine the design/layout.

quality checklist.
The project procurement process and the change request process help manage the choice of the
best builder for the construction process because the chosen builder is not able to fulfill l the
demand of the client, the change request will help determine the alternative option for the
builder.
While the site is selected, it is important to consider the procurement processes involved along
with the quality management plan which can help manage the planning process and the
execution process of the modified project change request. In the earlier tasks in the described
selection of the layout, quality and risk-managed processes are important, as it can identify any
risk due to the selection of the stakeholder or use of a raw material not standardized by the
organization.
There are many crucial or important civil aspects should be considered during the selection or
the construction. In such civil aspects and standards, quality management and product quality
checklist is quite a useful project managed process helpful in managing the project proportion.
The quality of the soil, the moisture content in the soil and the layout process involving the set
layout, which should not create any risk in the description of the change in the proportion for the
addition or removal or rooms or any area of the project. The change request and the deliverables
will be considered for the quality of the raw materials and in choosing up the builder. The
product quality checklist will be crucial in checking up the important activities involved in the
builder project (Du, 2012).
The project quality checklist and the project status report are some of the key aspects, which are
included in the project management process of construction of a house. The change request
process under execution process is important to monitor any change given in the project

proportion with the reflection of the change request process, available for the set layout standard,
in the quality management process for providing extra strength to the concrete used in the
construction.
The project status report, which is in the monitoring part of the Project management book of
knowledge, is important to monitor the key project management processes involved according to
the set standard and suppliers. The reflected project status report is the key included in the
project management process, will be monitored by the project status report. This project status
report is important in managing the raw materials and the deliverables, in the field of
construction such as equitable raw materials and good quality of equipment used for the
construction. In the deliverable process, under execution process, all the raw materials and the
equipment should be included in the project discussion boards. It is quite important to note here
that the project management processes should be involved in the department of the construction
so that the quality and all the processes can be involved in the execution plan available for the
project management planning and construction. There is some important part in the construction
which will be useful in describing the key project management processes including in the
guidance of PMBOK, which says project management processes will help manage the project of
construction quite well.

3. Explain how you would implement lean best practices to achieve lean project
management for (1) and (2) above.
In various project management process, lean project managing processes are important processes
to be included in the construction so that the tools can be useful in managing time and money to
be spent on to the project client. There are various processes or ways in which a lean project
management processes can be implemented, these practices stabilize the business partners, and
other processes so that the flow of should not be hampered. The lean project management
processes are quite smooth and it helps the construction management to be smooth enough so
that the tasks which are linked with the project management practices in the construction of the
house can be established, in emphasizing the loans available from the government (Moore,
2013).
The lean practices which can be useful in the construction management are, value stream
mapping, poke yoke and mistake-proofing, these are some of the key lean management
practices which can be applicable and can be included in the process of the construction. Poke
yoke which is a lean project management process, rely on the fact that humans do commit
mistakes, and it monitors the mistakes made by the management during the construction. It is
hence helpful in managing the mistakes, under management processes and facts.
In the elimination of waste, it saves money, and wastage during the construction processes, if
increased, might create risks of financial instability and bad land management, hence elimination
of waste, within the process of the construction is quite useful in managing project management
processes , under project status report which is quite helpful in managing the important part in
the project management processes involved.

Conclusion
This particular assignment had explained how lean project management practices can be useful
by applicating it under various project management processes. The project status report is quite
crucial in understanding the fact that the project management processes which is important to be
involved under various process of planning and other important part of the project management
process should be included in the process of construction, and how they are useful is explained
completely.
