Introduction
Project management is the procedure of planning, executing, controlling the project team for the
attainment of the particular goals on time. Project management involves various factors such as
quality, efficiency, and output and so on. Lean project management means carrying out the
operations of the project in such a way that reduces the wastages and reduces the cost. Lean
project management aims at adding value with decreasing the wastages and expenditure.
Initial reasons for implementing LPM
According to Brioso, (2015) the object to implement the lean project management is to carry out
the operations of the project team smoothly. Lean project management focuses on lean
manufacturing and lean production. The Westway company implemented lean project
management to enhance the productivity of the business and to enlarge the business. It involves
the inspection at each and every stage. The main reason behind the implementation of the LPM
is to enhance the functioning of the overall operations in an organised way. It provides guidance

Benefits to stakeholders
Stakeholders are the people who get affected by the decisions and actions of the organisation.
Creditors, manufacturers, employees and so on are examples of stakeholders. LPM is beneficial
for the stakeholders as they will receive the services of more improved quality. The benefits of
LPM to the stakeholders are explained below:
Government
The government gets to benefit from the implementation of the LPM as the government will
need not to make numerous policies and rules to maintain the good quality of services and goods.
Through the application of LPM by the company the interference of the government in the
operation of the organization will be less.
Employees
Lean project management aims at improving the skills and talent of the employees in order to use
the resources correctly. It also focuses on discovering the hidden aptitude and skills of the
employees (Sousa, et. al., 2018). Through the execution of LPM employees gets a good working
environment and culture in which they can work with less intervention.
Customers
Lean project management is beneficial for the customers as it allows them to experience and use
high quality of goods and services. LPM intends to achieve the benchmarks set for the quality of
goods and services and constantly setting higher ones. Hence through the application of LPM
customers will take delivery of the improved services.
Critical success factors of lean project management
The critical success factors for lean project management are as follows:

Training to the staff: For successful implementation of lean project management requires
training to the employees. The workforce should be trained enough to apply the concepts of lean
in the operations of the business (Tenera, & Pinto. 2014).
Formation and implementation of the plan: Lean project management requires the formation
and execution of the project plan. According to this factor, an organisation must have a project
plan to be implemented for the success of lean project management.
