SUBJECT The Introduction of Lean Project Management (LPM) principles to secure
government work.
Introduction
The consultancy company wishes to implement lean project management so that it could
grow the business output in addition to gain the government work. According to, Elias,
(2016). There are numerous methods and elements that the firm could address to absolutely
implement the tilt mission control into its structure. The goal of this memo is to expose a way
to enforce lean task control into the consultancy. Currently working as a director of the well-
reputed project management consultancy firm NICAID group, the consultancy wants to take
the government work where the lean project management function would be implemented by
the organisation. The company desires to have a project management approach in its culture
through which they would be able to achieve the objective of maximising the goals of the
company and also would be able to engage the competency in skills of the employees of the
company. The company is currently working in the project management services through
which they are able to achieve the objective of maximising the goals of the company and is
determinant towards their goals and functions. The company was founded in the year 2015
and has become one of the reputed company which helped in achieving the objective of
maximising the goals of the company. Through the memo, the company would give the plan
which would help in achieving the objective of maximising the lean project management in
the company. This would also help the company to get the government project on board and
would also help in increasing the performance of the company as a whole.
The Needs of implementing LPM
The consultancy wants to begin work which is given through the authorities. But the trouble
which has been going on is if the consultancy wants to try this job then it is required that it
should observe the lean project management approach. As per Feldman, (2012) By way of the
use of lean challenge control, the consultancy will have more of a higher manner of finishing
the initiatives and will increase their performance. Lean task control is likewise referred to as
a lean six sigma. This is seen that there are various benefits that are related to the

implementation of lean project management in the firm. The lean project management helps
the company to stay competitive in the industry through which they would be able to compete
in the profitability in the market. The company should find the ways through which they can
maximise the value and minimise the waste while performing the task. By applying the lean
project management in the company the company is able to challenge the old process a
continuously assess the ways which help in eliminating the inefficiencies in the organisation.
Through this process, the company would be able to achieve the following which includes:
 Increase in the productivity of the company
 Improvement in the quality of work for the company
 Advancement of the execution practice.
 Smoothening of the operations which would help in a continuous flow of the
operation in the company
This would also result in reducing the operating cost of the company and would increase the
profits for the company.

According to, Jalal Sohi et. al., (2016) this is seen that the lean project management is
inspired by the Toyotas management system where the management tries to follow different
principle which is categorised as the 3MU of the Kaizen, these are Muda which means
eliminating the waste, Muri that means to reduce the overburden of task and Mura which
means to reduce the inconsistency.

Lean project management techniques
This is seen that there are various lean project management techniques which help the
company to implement lean project management in the company. This includes various
approaches which are considered to be best for implementing lean project management in the
company. As per the view of Mahlck & Maehlck, (2013) these include the following
methodologies and techniques to implement lean project management within the company.
The lean methodology that is available in the company includes:
Six sigma which helps in focusing on the quality and the waste elimination within the
company as this is a major requirement for the government projects.
Deming Cycle: This is considered as the method where plan do check and act (PDCA)
approach is used by the company to perform the obligations.
Kanban: This is the approach that is used by the organisation to eliminate the backlogs of the
work that are in the progress for the company. There are various tools that are present in the
organisation which helps in applying lean project management in the company.

able to increase the performance of the company and are also able to achieve the objective of
maximising the profits of the company that overall helps in increasing the growth of the
employees of the company.

investor the company as the company would be able to achieve the objective of maximising
the profits. This would help the company to increase the performance due to which they
would also be able to get a higher return on the project that they undertake. This would also

help the investor as the amount of money that they are investing in the company is giving
better results. Also, investors would get the confidence in the company as they will get to
know about the introduction of lean project management in the company.

There are important achievement elements that want to collaborate with lean task control for
it to run efficiently inside the consultancy. One of the achievement elements is the strategic
alignment of the enterprise. Strategic alignment for implementing lean schooling challenge

the lean project management approach which is used by the company. Here the retrospectives
would be analysed where it would be seen that how well the activities had gone. Also the
company has defined the daily stand ups which helps in defining the commitments and
uncover the problems which helps in ensuring smooth work flow. Also SCRUM method for

analysing the effect of lean project management would be used as this helps in delivering the
projects on timely basis. This can be linked with the organisation as this would lead to
increase in the performance and efficiency of the organisation
The company has made the people aware of the plan that they are considering to implement.
The company has taken various analysis process at every step to implement lean project
management in the organisation. Also, the employees of the company are being aware of the
requirements of the resources for the completion of the work.
Conclusion
This is seen that the decision to implement lean project management is taken by the company
as they want to procure the government project. The company has to implement this from the
very starting phase of the company so that they are able to change the way of working of the
organisation. The company would also consider the factor such as the effect to the
stakeholders that would be generated through this process.
