(LPM) principles to secure government work
Document Page
Project Management is the way of rehearsing of planning, executing, initiating, controlling and
closing all the work done by the team. This is done to achieve some particular goals. The main
challenge of Project management is to get all the goals within the given criteria. The purpose of
Project Management is to produce a broad plan which assembles with the customer objective.
The Lean is a commercial viewpoint; it is not just an instrument or technique for improvement.
Lean means the waste should be minimized and all the resources should be used in an
appropriate way.
This study was derived from Simon Kucher which is a consultancy in France. Simon Kucher
focuses on boosting the revenue of clients and profits them by optimizing their plans. They work
across all the organization. It is the best consultancy in marketing and sales. The objective of
Lean Project Management is to derive its value.
Initial reasons for implementing LPM
The main reason for implementing Lean Project Management is to boost-up the efficiency and
productivity of the project. Following are some reason for implementing Lean Project
Management
Demand of Client
The reason for implementing LPM is that the client wants it because the LPM lingo is more
efficient. LPM adds a context around matter management that suits both the organization as well
as the client.
Control Cost
LPM gives a variety of trappings to assist monitoring, and reporting about the cost as the
progress of matter so there is no random billing time. The transparency with the client regarding
the costs makes it easy to manage (Stanton, 2014).

More space for big deals
One of the main goals of LPM is to reduce the volume of management and coordinate around the
edges that matter by executing streamlined practice. This lets the organization focus on the work
and gives more space for thinking about innovative ideas for new projects.
Adaptability
LPM is very flexible in nature. It let the organization measure the size of the practice.
Benefits to stakeholders
A stakeholder is a person who has interset in the success and failure of the business. To navigate
the business it is important to understand the benefits to stakeholders. Some of the benefits for
stakeholders are it avoids repetition, sustainability planning is supported, the efficiency and
effectiveness of the delivery of service are increased, high quality of the decision of making, risk
management practice is increased, accountability increases for the investment of community
capitals, etc. The productivity of employee will increase. The benefits of stakeholders are
explained below:
Government
From the implementation of lean project management, the government can get the benefit as the
government makes inflexible policies and procedures to be surveyed by the organization. An
organization responsibility towards the work is enabled with the help of Lean Project
Management and hence the intermediation of the government is less in the business organization.
It will be the government to regulate all the policies concerned with the organization(Sunder,
2016).
Employees
The focus of Lean Project Management is to increase the production and efficiency of the staffs.
Employees can work freely if they get a good working culture and this is possible with the help
of Lean Project Management. It guides the employee to follow and work within the rules and
regulations so it is beneficial for the employee. For good management of the organization, it is
important to have lean project management. The hidden latent of the employee is discovered

staff should have enough known on how to implement LPM. For good working implementation,
the workforce should be given proper training and education to enhance their knowledge and
skills. Training is a very important part as it increases the skills of the employees to make them
familiar with the new procedures and techniques.

Steps to ensure a critical success factor
Critical success factor is the process to ensure that the organisation is working in the right
direction and will achieve the target quickly. It helps to accomplish the mission, goals or
objectives of the Company by identifying the critical success factors in the project or
organisation. It helps to identify the essential elements which would be helpful to achieve
success. It allows people to perform their work in the right direction and pull all the employees
or team members together towards all the same objectives, goals or overall aims of the
organisation as well. It is essential that all the steps which required achieving the critical success
factor in the organisation will be followed in the right direction to achieve the success and goals
of the Company. Determining success factor (CSF) helps in identifying those paths which could
play the most crucial role to achieve success in meeting the objectives of the Company so far.
Identifying the CSF is a very iterative process and linked with the organisation's goals mission,
strategic plans and objectives of the organisation for the long term (Sershen et al., 2012).
The following are the steps which could ensure the critical success factor in the organisation:
Establishment of objectives – It is one of the most crucial steps to follow which can't be
skipped at any cost because the most important thing is to set and established the goals or
objectives of the organisation which would be long term or short term accordingly. Company's
intentions for this is to adopt the lean management concept and get the government projects for
which lean project management is required to achieve to get those government projects. So the
Company's goals are adopting and maintain the lean management concept in its current running
projects.
Identifying the critical areas for CSF – The second step is the most crucial step for the Company
to determine the goals of the Company which are adopting lean project management in the
company’ projects. The most important thing is to understand that for achieving the critical
success factor in the organisation, identifying the critical areas for the CSF is very important
because it is required to identifying those areas where Company can easily apply the elements
for significant success. Identifying those areas would be the most crucial step, and companies
can't take risks of skipping it because if the organisation is not aware of the where it can apply

Critical success factor, it would be very harsh for the Company to maintain any critical success
factor in the organisation. Without it would be hard to get any lean project management in the
organisation and which could ruin the objectives and goals of the Company. the Company wants
to achieve the target of getting some government project which will be very helpful to achieve
success and growth in future. After identifying those areas, company management can easily find
the right persons for the work and make a team of them.
Find the right person for the right job – The third step is to find the right person for the right job
which is one of the most exciting and essential steps as well. It helps to encourage employees to
increase their productivity and become more innovation towards the issues which are running in
the organisation. After ensuring the key areas where Company can apply critical success factors,
company management needs to identify the right people for the right job and help them become a
team and perform like a team to achieve significant success factor for the organisation. Finding
the right persons sounds easy, but it could be the most challenging task as well. The Company
can't afford to make mistakes in this step; otherwise, things would be difficult in future for the
Company.
Monitoring – After making the right people for the right job team, the critical work is to monitor
their work that they all are working according to the requirements of the Company. It helps to
understand that monitoring in an effective way is the best possible way to accomplish their work
and achieve success in that. For control, company management can appoint some responsible
people who could be helpful to achieve success and provide them with all sort of guidance for
the work assigned to them.
Communicating – Communication is the key to success, so it is required that company
management maintain a healthy path for communications between employees and management.
It not only helps the employees to improve their mistakes and work but also very helpful to
achieve success for the Company to maintain effective team management in the organisation,
Evaluation – After managing a team and productive communications with them, the most
important thing is to genuinely evaluate their work according to the company standards or
company requirements for the particular projects (Solomon et al., 2016).

Training used for the staff
The Project is complete in an effective manner if employees have proper knowledge regarding
the project. It is the main reason Simon Kucher provide a training session to its existing
employees and the new joiners.
Types of tools
A Deming cycle use for lean project management and it follows the rule designed by Kaizen, and
it developed on the PDCA format. The PDCA means Plan, Do, Check, Act . Analysis of project
identifies the various factors which might become an obstacle in during the activity. The plan
mentioned the schedule date and activities of training. Do is used for establishing the solution of
the defined problem. Check used for tracking the current performance and Act is used to
executing the solution of the problem.
There is one more tool, i.e. Six Sigma tool. It is based on DMEDI, according to this tool D stands
for defining and it defines the scope and range of project. M for measuring the overall success of
the respective lean projects explores the new ideas and methods which can be appropriately used
in the project and I based on the implementation of activities which is processed during the
project (Zhan, 2016).
Types Of staff:
Company staffs are the most important asset to an organization. It is the responsibility of them
always to be a loyal towards their organization. Staff has communication and interaction among
employees. Effective communication maximizes the possibility of new ideas and methods which
can be discussed in the workplace. Team and department show the collaboration nature among
team members. Another skill must be required in every staff, i.e. decision-making skills; it
improves the professional personality of an individual. Company appreciates those individuals
who always took the correct decision on right time. Staff must know about the management and
administration of the organization. It describes how the company deals with different factor in
the organization. Brainstorming and small events improves the skills of existing employees. It
helps in the growth of the organization as well because staff contribution is more than others in
the company.

Types of skills available in the staff members:
There are various skills which need to be present in the staff that is strong communication skills,
quick learner and accept new challenges. The full of theoretical knowledge helps in the practical
implementation in the company. Training methods provide accessing this knowledge, so there is
some limitation for the staff. It shows that the team improves their decision-making skills,
problem-solving skills, logical thinking etc. If they have these skills, it will be easier to
understand and grasp new opportunities. Training methods only assist the staff member to
improve their existing skills (Yang, 2017).
Skill development of the employees
Management takes responsibility to teach them about new implementation. Employees get a
training session from the organization. Nowadays, there are various methods used for training in
the company. The most common training methods are on-job training and off-job training.
On-job training: In this training method employees get training in the job timing. Learning gets
easier if execution and implementation are at the same time of knowledge.
Off-job training: This training provided after job hours. It will be conducted on face to face or
via the internet as well. It does not require the same time availability of tutor and learners.
