MAIN BODY
Having effective management skill is very necessary for a learner because they
have to manage many different activities at a same time. For undertaking any course,
the learner need to be very effective during their whole module and must learn a variety
of skills and attributes (Sánchez-Moral, Bontje and Musterd, 2018). Thus, the purpose
of essay will be to outline how a person can develop as a learner and to reflect on
meeting the future challenges and expectation for future studies.
A learner is a person who try to learn new and different things with help of other
people and want to learn a particular subject or anything in which they have interest.
The learner can also be of many different type depending on the personality of the
person. The various types of learner are like visual, reading, auditory and kinaesthetic.
As I learner I am a mix of reading and auditory learner because of the fact that till I not
either read by myself or hear the things I am not able to learn and retain the things in
my mind. Thus, for me it is very necessary to either read or hear the things and
information by myself for retaining for a longer period of time.
As a learner at the course of OBC being held in Buck new university foundation I
experienced a lot many new and different skills and information. All the experience at
the course were helpful in enhancing my knowledge and skill of course. While the
course was going on I realised that I am more of independent learner but also requires
class based learning. This is majorly because of the fact that if the I can learn on my
own but I need some confirmation that I am going in the right direction of learning and
this I can get with help of class based learning.
During the course of OBC at Buck university I gathered knowledge of many
different skills and attributes. The first skill which I learnt was the public speaking skill
which before course I was not having. This is majorly because of the reason that I was
very introvert and shy and didn’t like to interact with other people. But after university
course I learnt that without interaction no work can be done and accomplished (Guan,
Xie and Huan, 2018). Even in the future I will like to continue this skill and will try to
develop it more by interacting with different types of people. Another skill which I learnt
is the researching skill. Earlier I didn’t know how to research for the data as there are
many websites which provide similar data.

Hence, after the university course I was able to differentiate that which website is
more reliable and relevant. In future I also I will like to continue with exploring more on
research skill as this will assist me in doing more effective research and collect data
from more good and authentic sources. Another skill which I developed as a learner at
the university course is importance of reading strategies (Larsen-Freeman, 2019). This
is majorly because earlier I was not having knowledge that there are many different
types of reading strategies but after the course I gained knowledge that there are many
different types of reading strategies which can be used to complete the study. In the
future I would like to learn all the variety of reading strategies like detail reading,
scanning or skimming and many others.
Reflection is an art of writing the learning which the person has made with help of
their experience and knowledge. This is different from other type of thinking because of
the reason that in reflection the person can bring out the actual knowledge and the
learning which they have learnt from their experience. The major expectation from the
university course is to score first position and get first class degree from the Bucks
university. But the major challenge in this expectation is diversion from friends and
family. This is a challenge because of the reason that for securing first position I have to
focus only on studies and for this I will have to limit my recreational activities and
meeting and hanging out with friends.
The another challenge which restricted me is the academic skills which were less
in me. But for securing first position at the university I have to enhance my academic
skills because of the fact that this will help me in developing good knowledge base and
this will help me in applying that knowledge at time of answering in the examination
(Cottrell, 2017). For this I have to read the subject matter and course material
frequently. Also I had to make use of technology and download the blackboard app and
other educational apps. This is important because this will assist in developing good
academic skills.
As a learner I am improving because of the fact that when I entered the university
course of OBC I was having different level of knowledge. But with passing of the time at
the university course I realised that many skills have developed in me because of the
learning provided at the university (López-Serrano, de Larios and Manchón, 2019).

Thus, this course helped me in developing as a learner in good and proper manner.
Even there were many different challenges but then also with help of peers and tutors I
managed to develop myself as good and effective learner. Further I would like to
develop a more variety of skills and traits which I am still lacking and need to develop
more in the future so that my personality can be more enhanced and developed.
In the end it can be summarised that university course help a person in
developing as a good learner. This is majorly because of the reason that at university
course there are many different facilities and amenities which assist the student in
developing a variety of different kind of skills and attributes. Hence, the study outlined
the fact that how university course helps a person to become an effective learner. Also
this essay outlined the different challenges which a person can face and how to deal it
in the near future.
