Introduction
This structure of planning will help me to attain goal that I want to achieve in my life. My
task is to complete the plan for the Learning and development that can make me have my own
individual self when I am ready for the occupational selection. Therefore, the individual
development plan is actually the process that can be obtained in a systematic format and that
helps the employees to select their capable genre of work. Now, for doing this is we need a
structured form of planning where I can find my own talents and the field where I can excel. For
doing this I need to understand that where my aptitude and interest lies. It is very important to
know about the genre in which I am interest. For that, it is very necessary to have a career
counselling where the student counsellor can help me to find the correct path where I can
channelize my career.
Occupational Skills
There is a need of having a correct form of the occupation that can be bringing a form of
stability in the person’s career. However, it can be done in several ways. As we all know that in
the field of psychology we need to be have the license to practice and that means that it is very
unlikely to find the employment that is directly related for helping the professionals unless they
have the appropriate form of the program of the college that are based on the community
practices.
Therefore, it is very much essential for me to gain the understanding of the skills that are
expected to find majorly in the students who are in fields of psychology and who are seeking

immediate jobs after their graduation. In the university, the majority of the skills are acquired in
the undergraduate course of work and the other through the co curricular activities and the
trainings that are given during the summer internship sessions. There are also various forms of
the volunteer form of experiences and the memberships in the several organizations in the
University campus.

psychology. However, I have made up mind to continue to pursue my degree and it is important

good professional psychologist. Although the list is not at all comprehensive, but there are some
of the major and most important, skills that I need to learn to be able to be a equipped counsellor.
1. Communication
Communications plays a very critical role in the career of a person. However, it is very much
important for studying the human behaviour. It is very much imperative for the psychologists to
able to communicate with their clients. While there is a need for the psychologists that are there
for describing, the effective form of observations and the portrayal of their finding in a well-
organized manner.
2. Numeracy
Many things that are very much intuitive in nature have the facility with the numbers. The
researchers those who have been very much involved in the quantitative form of the information
that can be always tends to look at the huge numbers of the data that are that uses the statistical
data that are to be interpreted. A good counsellor always understands that how they can
summarize the number of the statistical analysis and their numbers. Without all these forms of
abilities, the researchers could not be able to begin with the understanding of the observation of
the problems that the patients are going through. However, without the expertise and lack of
understanding, the professionals cannot help the patients and they are unable to apply the various

As the caregivers professional who have dedicated their lives to serve the people of the country,

How to be successful as a psychologist/counsellor

year students do not easily go the second year. It has been observed that only half of the
population in the college completes their trainings of the under graduation in proper 4 years.
About the remaining 25 percent finishes their graduation much later or they generally do not
continue their graduation. Although it has been observed that there exist various reasons for
leaving the University may always vary due to the poor performances in Academics can be one
of the main contributing factors. The student who fails to complete their graduation
approximately about 40 percent has their grade points below the standards of the University.
Besides, the overall form of the ability that are the certain form of the characteristics that are
typify at the beginning of the university students who were successful to complete their
graduation in time than the others.
The successful students have the tendency to display the stronger form intrinsic motivations that
are used for attaining the certain form of goals towards their career that has been desired for
learning. The learning is done for the courses that are related to the goals that are been exhibited

Self-assessment
To self analyze my own performance, it is very important to acknowledge the question that
whether there is a scope for the scope of my practice or not. The correct way to access the skills
