INTRODUCTION
Learning and development is a systematic process used by company in order to describe
about everything a company do to motivate employees for professional development. They are
providing training courses, online training and learning programs, development programs as well
as many more. The present report will provide detailed information about importance of learning
and development in the firm. Furthermore, it will give reflection on potential as a coach with the
help of models. Also, the case study will complete the coaching self-assessment tool and also
identify key areas of development. At last, the study will develop personal development plan
which will focus on identified skills from the self-assessment tool using model of coaching.
The coaching self-assessment tool
Coaching self-assessment is helpful in many ways, as it will assist people in learning about what
are important factors that is needed to be successful as a coach. With the help of this tool anyone
can create action plan for self-development and improvement which is beneficial for personal
and professional achievement. Self-assessment tool is helpful for coach to better understand
about their learners. In my experience, with the help of this tool, anyone can provide self-insight
and self-awareness in order to improve their knowledge or skills. By properly adopting this tool,
people can create actionable plan and objectives with a more understanding of self-achievement
and weaknesses. I think by adopting coaching tools people can enhance the experience and can
achieve goals faster. Nowadays, people are using different types of tools such as workshops,
webinars, conferences and group assignment. This will improve their communication skills,
active listening skills and create team bond between them.
An effective coaching tool has a particular goal which is beneficial for people to achieve
something extra and improve skills. It has been said that the more specific and clear coaching
practices, the better the career of people. By adopting tools people can help other people handle
specific problems and find out solutions for the same. By implementing coaching tools, people
can easily compete their homework properly, enhance their skills and knowledge, motivate
themselves. Also, it will enhance the creativity of people which is good for them to inspire other
people and spread informative knowledge. A proper coaching tools is helpful for people so that
they can discover about themselves such as weaknesses and strengths and make necessary
changes by implementing good habits. People can use coaching tools throughout their career, life
cycle in order to achieve personal and professional goals.

gather important information about employees or people. The coach receives feedback from a set
of people, with whom they can understand the details about strengths and weaknesses. It will
provide opinions on how the staff is performing is different areas such as communication,
teamwork, leadership and other skills or knowledge. Sometimes the coach gives self-evaluation
form to employees so that their performance can be measured by themselves and areas of
improvement and strengths for growth can be known.
In a company when people coach their team members effectively, they can easily know
them better so that it will help them to achieve goals through coaching skills. By tools, you can
also identify issues and solutions in order to avoid any major problems. In today’s world, many
people view coaching as a corrective tool, where they can correct their mistakes and learn new
things for life. In the firm, leaders and coach help their employees explore their objectives and
targets and encourage them to meet them with the help of communication skills and interpersonal
skills.
Quizzes are simple, easy to use and highly effective in nature, what I like most about this
tool, is that I always walk away with an ‘action plan’. After learning importance of tools, I start
seeing positive results almost immediately. This is just because now I can know about my
weaknesses and strengths. Even though I consider myself already full of skills and knowledge,
working with my team mates inspires me to reach my personal and professional goals. Now I can
reach an even greater level in my career and improve my professional life too. By learning about
barriers I can easily make necessary changes for those factors I didn’t even realize I had. With
the help of self-assessment tools I am learning new skills and creativity and achieving my
targets.
By adopting quiz, I can develop my skills effectively and provides me suggestion what
more is needed to improve. In order to get a better insight into skills and knowledge level, I have
taken self-assessment through quiz. In this assessment, there were total 15 questions, I have to
choose one of them. After completion of the online test, I have received the output such as 54
marks out of 100.

This means that my coaching skills are effective, but I need to work some of the things
which is beneficial for me in my career. if I effectively work on my weaknesses I will be able to
motivate honest relationship with my team mates. By looking at the values of each statement and

by determing in which areas I am lacking behind, will be helpful for me to score more in the near
future and then work on them on regular basis.
Identifying 2 Key areas of development
Active listening skills – During the test, I have achieved the score of 54 which says that I need
to work on some of improvement. I need to focus on listening skills which will help me to
provide right information to people. My mentor says that it is important to be attentive so that
when people asked me about open ended questions I can easily provide them effective detailed
and infomration. According to , listening is one of the most important skills that one should
have, it will show how well the person is listening to others. It has a major impact on job
effectiveness, so one must need to focus on listening skills to understand clearly about things. It
is necessary to communicate completely so that important and clear message can be delivered to
another person.
Developing interpersonal skills
Interpersonal skills are the skills people use every day when they communicate with
people and interact with them. For communication people need to improve their wide range of
skills such as listening skills, effective speaking skills and ability to control situation while
talking. With the help of interpersonal skills, anyone can improve their personal and professional
life. If they use proper interpersonal skills, then they can easily able to work effectively with
other team members.
Mostly, in the company employees can use their strong interpersonal skills which will help
them to achieve goals throughout their career. If they communicate effectively with other people,
it will create better relationships with them. I think anyone can improve their interpersonal skills
by developing awareness of how to coordinate with others and developing skills. It includes soft
skills, life skills and social skills which I think is important to interact with other people. By
developing this, people can easily improve their team work, problem solving skills, they can
make important decision quickly and solve issues effectively. For example- being able to provide
response and receive feedback effectively will be helpful for people to solves various types of
problems in their life.
Personal development plan
A personal development plan is also famous as action plan which is used by people to identify
their individual goals and desired targets. They can easily understand what they want to achieve

in life and how long it will take to complete it. People can evaluate their weaknesses and
strengths in order to meet their personal and professional goals. They can also note down how to
achieve goals like what are steps needed to accomplish targets.
By doing SWOT analysis, people can also make their action plan for example-
Opportunities- there is an event in my company next week, where employees have to give
presentation on importance of interpersonal skills. This will allow me to gain some new network
if I complete this task effectively. It will improve my communication skills which is helpful for
me to make coordination with others.
Strengths- I have a very good presentation skills and creativity skills, which allow me to
identify important things in my life.
And so on… in this way people can evaluate their weaknesses and strengths and other
important criteria.
