Essay on The process of learning and improvement in league
I have always desired to work while studying. I think that work and studies go hand in
hand. When we are taking lesson at school at the same time we can take practical lesson of life.
To this thought I went to do a part time job at Wawa. My excitement could not be controlled that
I got an opportunity to serve people and learn the practical lesson of life. This was like a winning
situation for me, it brought a lot of joy of being fully satisfied. At this stage of life I am able to
manage both work and study.
Thesis: To be a registered nurse from a reputed university, work and study together will
teach me to balance life while working on my dreams. I was learning the most important
lesson by managing work pressure.
I am a person who never worked hard and had lot of problem in managing studies. I
remembered being scolded by teacher for skipping home works. The new responsibility makes
me realize that both the work and education are equally important. Its my basic responsibility to
manage each of them with discipline. Workplace is managed by a manager who teaches us to
follow rules. The rule if not followed can get us fired to deduct our salaries. Thus a thought of
duty comes to our mind (Terenko 38). The more careful we are the better we will become in our
work. Work place always complements our studies by providing a new way of learning outside
of the classroom. It provide us with crucial skills, knowledge, and personality that every
employers look for.
I have a dream to become a registered nurse. It is my career goal. It is not easy to get
admission in most prestigious colleges like Rowan University. A good score is important along
with the practical knowledge of handling people (Lyons). Duty of a nurse is very divine. Nurses
have many roles to play. A nurse takes care of the patient, they are life-savers. They have a

bundle of duty of perform each day. Not only caring of patient but they also have to
communicate correctly to the doctors, administer the medicines, and work as per law of ethical
practice. They are not only multi tasking but also hard working from day to night throughout the
year. Maximum part of their life is spent on solving other’s life problem (Watts 10). This field
has always excited me and gave me hope that one day I will achieve my dream and I will be a
great nurse.
I work hard to define my personality. What makes me different from others is still
unknown to me and I work daily to know how I am better than anyone else. My work ethic at the
Wawa teaches me to be time bound (Suryana and Wahab). It teaches me to be disciplined and
committed to whatever duty we take in hand. I have learned to be patient, work on deadlines,
handle multi task and treat customers with respect. How multi tasking curves our skills and
prepares us for future is well taught in this job.
There is a huge competition all around the world and millions of people have the same
dream as mine. To beat everyone and get through my favorite college is my first dream. Working
at Wawa I have learned to learn from my mistakes. I was very shy at the beginning to work in a
convince store (Sithole 85). But slowly and steadily I learned my job and become stronger. The
money that I earn is saved in the bank for my future educational expense. My work has taught
me the lesson of saving. My first job has taught the value of independence to me. How earning
for self creates self respect and increases self esteem.
The job is not only a method to earn an extra pocket money but a method to learn the
practical skills of working in a demanding environment (Marina, Indrawati and Suarman 75). I
learned to work with honesty; I started to give more importance to my job. I hardly bunked my

class and job. I have learned to respect my seniors and also listen to their orders. The skill to
handle work pressure is essential for everyone to know. The more competitive it becomes the
more pressure one can feel. This prepares us for the future hurdle. If we want to succeed in life
we should be flexible to take lesson in all circumstance of life. We should indulge in these
outdoor activities and give ourselves a real work experience.
