(LO1) How do you find information and
evaluate its source? (200 words)
There is lots of information that is available at internet. It is important for an individual to
identify that it is suitable for them or not. There is need to evaluate the information in order to
use it in their University work. It is seen that, students face issues to know about the information
they are using is fit or not (White, 2017). It is important to know that the information is standard
or not. So, there is tutorial that helps me to decide whether the information is appropriate or
not. The use of CRAAP test help to evaluate that is source is standard and can be used. There is
so much information that is being available but with the help of CRAAP. I assist in check each and
every point that is related to information so that it can be used in proper manner. Finding of
information is necessary but at the same time evaluation of the source is equally important. By
evaluating the source, I am able to decide upon that using it will help or not. It is important to
write standard information in the assignments that are being given by University.

CRAAP test is being used to evaluate a source that it can be used or not. First of all it is important
to understand its full form:

It helps me to analyse that the source is accurate for my research or not. Generally, we are
unable to decide that we should a particular information or not. So, the use of CRAAP test helps
to examine that it is fit for the study. There are various important points that are beige tested
under the test and they are used like checklist to know about the sources (Saunders and Lewis,
2017). It helps to enhance the value of the content that is being used. It helps to check the points
that are mentioned below:
Currency: It is used to evaluate and check the timeline of the source. It is important to use the
information that is recent. The old data may not be relevant at the present time. So, it becomes
important and necessary to evaluate the time when the data was published. Along with that the
information can be used if it is updated recently.
Relevance: It is necessary to check that the information is related to the research that is being
undertaken by us. It is important that all the questions are being answered (Klun and Trkman,
2018).
Authority: It is necessary to check the details and information related to author. It s necessary to
check the details about the author who has conducted the study.
Accuracy: The accuracy of the information must also be checked. It helps to know that the study

Purpose: The intention of author is checked herein. It helps to know about the purpose for which
the research is being conducted. The clarity is important so that right source is important.

achieve the career goals in effective manner. It is necessary to assure that the students are
provided assistance at each and every level so that they are able to work effectively. There are
various services that are being provided by Leeds Trinity University are mentioned below:
Library: There is library that provides various books that help the students to study in
proper manner. This is assistance for the students as there are ample amount of books
that are available in the library.
IT lab: There is information and technology lab for the students. Where they are able to
learn computer skills. The teacher helps them to learn new things so that they are able to
use in future (Mendling and et.al., 2018). It helps them learn new skills and use the
software appropriately.
Career Support: It is examined that the Leeds Trinity University provide consultancy
services to the students. They provide them career related advise so that they are able to
achieve success in the career. They are able to set goals and let them make action plan so

helps the students to evaluate the sources that are being used by them. Along with that it assists
the students to know the right of referencing so that they are able to achieve success. It is
provides a help column where the students can write tehir query and it gets resolved within
time. Overall, it is a platform that make the student brilliant and they are able to achieve success
and complete the work that is provided to them in proper manner. It is a place that enhances the
