INTRODUCTION
Academic skills are basically considered to be the habits or talents that helps in benefitting
the academic pursuits which comprises of presentations, learning, report writing and research. It
further comprises of technical skills, analysis, studying, social, planning and much more. In this
report, it comprises of the various support services which are available to the students at Leeds
Trinity University.
MAIN BODY
In context to Leeds Trinity University, the university provides us various support services
and we as students have various benefits. In context to university, we as students have
opportunity to use various services that helps us in future employment. In context to university,
there are various support services which are provided by the university.
Support Team: In relation to university, the student support team is available for seven days a
week until 10 pm each night and helps in providing support for various issues in relation to
housing issues, academic, relationships, well being, personal issues and many other concerns.
The student support of the university can be reached by phone, emails and text. The support team
is highly friendly and the members of the university ensures that we students are supported in a
timely manner with right people.
Peer Support Champions: In context to peer support champions, they us helps us in settling in
student life and also in academic skills development. These helps us in developing various skills
in relation to the academic writing, in solving issues in relation to facing difficulties related to
referencing and also helps in finding a part time job. In addition to that it helps in finding the best
resources both in the library and online and how to use and understand sources. In addition to
that, each support champion that comprises of social aspects of university, LGBTQ+ chat,
societies, clubs with the disability chat. In addition to that, it offers invaluable insights and also
the peer support champions are basically recruited from apprenticeships and post graduate
courses.

Well being and Health services: In context to university, the students who are dealing with
mental health situations. We as students are supported by the experienced practitioners. In
context to organisations, there are various range of support options which involves services such
as accessing to a range of self help materials, well being appointments, stress workshops, online
wellbeing module, drop in relaxation classes, regaining motivation workshops, counselling and
cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT).
In addition to that, various common problems that are faced by students and offers
direction to a range of self help routes through application such as My LTU app. Moreover, it
helps in developing a range of self help groups for students. In university, we students can easily
access free online support with Togetherall. In relation to Togtherall, it is an online mental health
and well being service that offers a caring community, self help programmes and creative outlets
through clinically mediated peer to peer support. It is available for 24 hours and offers a safe
space.
In context to Leeds Trinity University, it welcomes disabled students. In context to students
who have long term medical conditions, disability, mental health and specific learning difficulty
are provided reasonable adjustments such as adapted teaching resources, extra time in exams,
alternative assessments, adjustments to group work and additional borrowing periods for library
loans. Moreover, the university provides one to one and group study skills that helps in providing
support to all the students.
The university nature of support is learning development and academic study skills. In
relation to students with confirmed diagnose of specific learning difficulties are also provided
tutors who have experience of providing specialist study skills support. In addition to that, the
students are provided additional services such as physical or mobility difficulties, dyslexia or
special learning difficulties, visuals and hearing impairments, autism and other medical
conditions. In relation to accommodations it also involves adapted fire alarms for students with
hearing impairments, platforms lifts for wheelchair users, adapted kitchens, en-suite rooms,
automatic doors etc. In context to Leeds Trinity University, the university provides students with
the support and advice on a range of health issues. In context to university, there is a great range
of accommodations available for us students at the Leeds Triinty with modern flats, budget
friendly halls and ensuite rooms. All the accommodations are provided us with supportive, safe
and social home from home. In addition to that for better peace of mind, the students are

provided with 24/7 security and live in resident mentor in each individual hall. In addition to
that, the teachers and staff are highly supportive, in some cases i find doing referencing difficulty
and was facing a lot of difficulties but my teachers are highly supportive and helps me in clearing
my doubts and issues. In addition to that as i was living away from my home town and was
planning to find a part time job that i could do with my studies. In support of this, the university
helped me in finding a part time job. The accommodation service really helped me in living in a
healthy environment, the additional support team helped me a lot in resolving issues in relation
to academic development and all these services helped me living my best life in the university
and played a really important role in my future employment.
CONCLUSION
From the above report it can be concluded that academic skills and studying with confidence
plays a really important role in life of a student and moreover the support services provided at
the university played a very important role in living a health life at the university and with all the
services it helped in studying, academic development and important role in my future
employment.
