The problem
India is a country where there is mass population, and many of them are illiterate. A large
number of people are not aware of the legal system of the country. They are not even aware of
their rights. Those who are aware of it cannot afford it because of their economic and social
conditions. They are not in a condition to appoint legal counsel due to their high fees of services.
The legal system in India is not very effective(Burton, Miller and Shea, 2015). This is due to the
many obstacles and challenges that are faced by people in the legal system. There is generally a
lack of awareness among the people related to legal aid by the government. There is a mindset of
the people that the free aid provided by the government is not effective in quality. The lawyers
provided by the legal authorities are not enough, and generally, it has been seen that the lawyers
are uninterested in providing quality services to the people due to financial issues. All these
issues are the base of this campaign(Bhardwaj, 2018). This campaign is for citizens so that they
have faith in the legal system and have access to the court when required.
The context
The political environment is related to lots of factors that involve government policies, legal
framework, political parties, government efficiency, public attitude, etc. These factors constitute
the political environment. Many times some political parties affect the legal aid of the
government to the people. Social environment related to villages and towns differs in awareness
as urban people have more awareness and they are keen towards legal aid(Araujo et al. 2015).
Education facilities are also more in urban areas. Cultural factors matter more in rural areas, and
this issue is also related to this difference. Due to the economic problem, there is more
unawareness among people of villages. They have no idea about their rights and responsibilities,
and the majority of them are illiterate. They do not believe in sending their children at school and
made them work at home(Act and Unit, 2017). There are some legal issues also such as child
marriage, divorce, legal constraints in different matters, etc. that result in more unawareness
among the people. There are some environmental problems also that result in a lack of awareness
for education among the people. This is related to uneducated parents, family, and mythology.

Education problem is more related to girls' education. Legal aid is related to political
factors(Caneron, 2019). There exist some political issues that are related to legal aid that does
not reach to the people at times.
Applicable law, policy, convention development frameworks
There are many laws that will be applicable in this campaign/ These rules must be kept in mind
while carrying on our campaign. These rules consist right to an education that is necessary to be
explained to all especially children(Caruso, 2016). Then it comes to traffic rules that the team
has to follow and some human rights that people are unaware of.
Right to education is a free and compulsory right of children above 6 years of age that provides
them with free education up to 14 years f age. It is a human right that no one can avoid it. This
rule is legal and is written in the law(He and Pan, 2016). This act guarantees free education to all
regardless of any gender, color, caste, creed, race or any other discrimination factor. There are
some other rights related to torture and slavery that will be focused along with it.
As this campaign is going to organize some roadside workshops, camps and courses there must
be some traffic rules to follow (Huddy, Mason And Aarøe, 2015). The team will keep this in
mind that there will be no traffic jam or any other kind of roadblock. Hoarding and pamphlets
will be distributed after taking full permissions. School children will be a part of this campaign
only after their school so that no issue will be created and there will be no loss of their studies.
Every individual has been granted six fundamental rights and some duties that will be explained
to the people through this nationwide campaign(Ismail and Zakuan, 2018). These six
fundamental rights include the right to equality, right to freedom of religion, culture and
educational rights, right to freedom right against exploitation and right to constitutional
remedies. These rights are provided by the constitution that helps the citizens of India to live a
peaceful life. These rights are related to forming associations and the right to express your
opinions to one another(Lamont, Ayala-Hurtado & Park, 2017). All these fundamental rights act
as indicators that all citizens are equal in the eyes of laws irrespective of caste, color, religion,
etc.

Hence, the campaigning team will focus on these rights and will have proper access to these laws
so that they can be carefully followed and also can be explained to other people (AI-Qattan and
Almotairi, 2018). These rights will help the team to create awareness among the people.
The objectives
The purpose of this campaign is related to creating legal awareness among the people of India.
The main objective is to provide some knowledge related to the basic right of every citizen under
various laws and helping them to face real-life situations. The purpose of this report is to make
them aware of various parts of the judiciary system that is available for them to provide justice
and to resolve their problems(Levinson et al. 2015). They are required to make aware of the
procedure that must be followed for the redressal of the problems that consists of police,
executive an often judiciary. They will be old about the courts and their role, and most
importantly, they will be explained the role of PI L. awareness will be created about the role of
legal service authority, Lok adults and free aid provided by the government. Women will be
made aware of their rights such as the Prevention of Domestic Violence to Women Act, 2005,
etc.
The aim of this report is to conduct a national campaign on creating legal awareness among the
citizens of India. There are some objectives and goals of this project proposal such as:
To ensure that this report will make the people aware of their fundamental rights and it
will educate them as illiteracy rate is very high in India and they are not aware of their
rights (Levy, Evans and Rhodes, 2018).
To recognize them about the social issues due to lack of knowledge and realizing them
with real-life experiences. Women and children are told about those situations which are
keeping them away from their rights.
To use social media, television, and radio for campaigning.
Taking the help of local government for bringing the people together especially those
who are poor and victims
To expand the campaign to a larger area.

Stakeholders
The awareness could be imparted with the help of law professors, retired judges, senior
advocates women activists, etc. National Commission for women will help by providing
financial help up to 20000 and not more than 40000 for NGO's to organize this
campaign(Barker, 2016). The stakeholders will include the judiciary, lawyers, MLO's, service
providers, police, etc. Our campaign will try to reach various stakeholders with the help of oral
and written method. Around 50 justice workers will be trained for this campaign. Some
housewives, children, and men will also be part of this campaign. School children and teachers
will also participate in providing awareness about the education system. NGO members, white
ribbon campaign team, NSS team, and some workers will also be the part of this campaign. They
will be provided with 4 to 5 days of training related to this programme. School children will
show a nuked natak in the park. Various businessmen and agencies will help us by donating
some fund required for food and resource collection. A team of volunteers along with leaders
will be in the lead role. This will have consisted of an equal number of boys and girls(Martinelli
and Tomasi, 2018). They will guide the whole campaign and will act as the heart of the
campaign. They will focus on creating awareness about legal aid and education along with legal
awareness.
Opportunities, challenges, and obstacles
There can be several obstacles that have to be faced while campaigning. There is a need to be
ready for those obstacles and taking them as opportunities to learn from them. Some obstacles
can be in the form of illiteracy level of people, language problem, lack of enthusiasm in society,
etc. People may not show any zeal in listening to us or paying any attention to our
programmed(Mendelberg, 2017). Obstacles can be in the form of time and venue as it is not
possible for girl volunteer to attend the campaign programme at night. A most important
challenge will be related to the covering of large areas.
Call to action, message
With the help of the campaign, there must be a focus on raising awareness among the people
related to building their capacities. This campaign will try to give them a message that they have
some legal rights and responsibilities which they can assume or exercise according to their

needs. This will tell them the importance of education and girl empowerment(Nichols, 2017).
This will focus on their training and strengthening their unity and solidarity. This will also let
them know how they can take some actions and steps to solve any problem wherever possible
and if not, then how to help themselves.
Resources required
To create legal awareness among the people there must be need of some pamphlets, brochures,
road shows, radios, some street play with the help of local people, periodicals, newspapers,
magazines, charts, graphs, books, posters, stickers, paintings, wall paintings, illustrations in the
comic form, etc. some display boards at railway station, schools, shops, market places, police
stations, government offices, bus stations will also help in creating awareness among people. A
group of boys and girls will act as volunteers, and some leader to guide them will also be
there(Pevtsovaet al. 2016). Camps, lectures, announcement on loudspeakers, workshops, crash
courses will be some other sources used as campaign material. Complete information and
knowledge will be required in all the volunteers. Along with human resource, proper time and
venue will make a great part. Funds and money will be the greatest requirement of this
campaign.
Action plan and execution
Since theoretical knowledge cannot realize the real-life situation to any person. Therefore this
campaign will lay more stress on providing them knowledge with the help of case studies,
discussions, conferences, plays, meetings, videos, movies, interactions, some social activists,
visiting Lok Adalats, Jails, police stations, courts, such as Mahila courts, consumer forms,
district courts etc(Rhodes et al. 2017). The plan will focus on defining the ability of the people to
make decisions and making judgments about the law, legal resources, legal system, and its
policies and strategies. To make a strategy of the plan so that people attend it with a positive
attitude and open mind, there will be a need for creating awareness programmes on rights related
to gender equality. It will be fruitful to arrange workshops and camp courses to create awareness
about R T I act. This will be held especially at village areas. There will be plays and nuked
nataks to create awareness about education(Sivasuthanet al. 2018). Legal aid given by the
government is out of reach of the majority of people. The plan will also constitute the material

that will focus on explaining the procedure to get legal aid from the government. This campaign
will plan for providing knowledge among children for education regardless of their economic
and social situation.
Monitoring and evaluation
The primary focus of this campaign is to seek justice for people, protecting their rights and
promoting women empowerment. This campaign monitors the proper implementation of all
ideas to protect the people so that they face equality in all situations(Villegas et al. 2017). The
proposal is to evaluate the need of imparting the legal awareness to people about their rights and
duties so that they can share their power equally.this will help to monitor their access to
development policies and evaluate the terms that inspire them to work together to achieve justice
and equality.
