Question 4
The ethical and the environmental issues that the legal consultancy firms faces and the
ways to overcome it
There are many issue that these firms faces but the individuals should be aware about the
importance of the advocacy and thereby it has helped the professionals practicing law to be much
more participative so as to deliver effective advocacy.
The ethical and environmental issues faced are as follows:
1. Lack of credibility: The legal service providers are not able to judge themselves correctly
and the experts on the need of the consumers. The legal consultants are not able to
accurately judge the community concerns thus they should participate in the community
services (Hisrich and Ramadani 2017).
2. Lack of the organizational capability: The consultancies are small and only specialized in
the particular category. Advocacy can only be practiced when there are people who
strongly feel the need to focus on the same goals and activities.
3. The nature of society: The society is largely dependent on the making law and regulation
and the literacy shall help in the improvement of the society and help to reduce the
prejudice (Ji et al. 2015). Thus it is crucial for these consultancies to focus on way such
as media and the communities which shall reduce the barrier in promoting consultancies.
4. Location`: Consultancies are much popular in the urban area where there are a lot of
opportunities of trade and business. People make their own consultancy firms in the cities
due to the environmental issues and thus the rural areas face challenges for carrying out

advocacy and thus it remain isolated from the rest of the communities (Kirk, Herzer
Artmann and Kunz 2014).
5. Sustainability: In order to sustain on a long term it is crucial that the people give much
more effort. A person needs to have its area of interest and patience so to remain in the
profession of law practice for a long term.
6. Resistance to the change: The change in this field is a difficult thing to implement since
law is huge and it involves a lot of legislations thus the organization culture needs to be
well developed so as to adapt to the changing environment (Liu et al. 2017).
There is no code of conducts for the advocates in the society but there are many ethical
principles and decent and proper ways that the community advocates should have while
practicing the profession law. Advocacy mainly focuses on the equity and justice so their
activities are mainly influenced on their ethical behavior (Lord et al. 2015). The main intension
of advocacy is to empower and value the citizen as equal. The challenge of advocacy is to
maintain a strong sense of views of most o the people in the society.
On the ethical note the legal consultants should be accountable and responsible for their
words and actions. They should know whether their actions are morally correct or not. Thus the
action of the advocates should be such so that it is not interpreted as foolish and self interested
(Njuguna 2017). Thus advocacy is represents the community and the management, the person
shall have clear understanding about the clients and their needs. The most important and ethical
is too maintain the confidential information of the client When the advocate is fighting on behalf
of the client then he should maintain the information of someone else and thus shall be aware
about the issues concerning trust and confidentiality (Naidu 2017).
