1. What is your topic for the Soc 230 assignment? What 2-3 subtopics could you look
at for this assignment?
The topic selected for the assignment is “legal drugs and drugs use”. The subtopics that I could
look at the assignment include ‘misuse of prescription drugs’, ‘impacts of drugs’ and ‘laws
applicable to drugs’.
2. What have you already done for your assignment, if anything?
For attempting the assignment, I have started studying the impacts of drugs on those who are
addicted. Currently, I am collecting the data from secondary sources. I have ordered certain
books online which can support me in studying the severe impacts of drugs on the physical
health of an individual and his lifestyle. I am also trying to explore the impacts on the lives of
family members of a person addicted to drugs.
3. What are the next steps will you take to get working your assignment?
As part of the next step of my assignment, I am trying to contact some doctors at rehabilitation
centers and hospitals who treat the people addicted to drugs and would like to include their
experience in my assignment.
4. What aspect of the assignment or area do you find challenging or confusing?
For me, the most challenging area of assignment shall be the presentation of the data collected. I
am good at researching the data but lack in presentation.
