In the present case the ethical issues reflects that it is important that values and beliefs of
the patients needs to be taken care off when providing treatment. On the other hand legal issue is
that without the consent of the patients practitioners cannot make transfusion of the blood as she
was in her senses. In this case the ethical principles that have bearing in the particular situation is
non maleficence as well as autonomy. In the present scenario Mrs. P is practicing Jehovah's
witness faith in relation with the administration of the blood. This belief presents that one reflects
unselfish love in all our actions. Further individual is avoiding the practices that displease good
which is comprised of misuse of the blood through taking blood transfusions. It reflects that one
is peaceful and do not take part in warfare. It is important that one respect the government where
we reside and obey the laws as long as they are not us to disobey the law of god. The case
reflects that doctors needs to offer services but due to patient belief such is becoming difficult.
This is influencing the ethical and legal concept which is being followed by the nurses as well
which reflects delegation of quality care to patients.
It can be concluded from the case that ethical and legal constraints affects the proper care
that can be given to the patient. Along with this it is inferred that professionals in this situation
gets restriction on the aspect that needs to be considered.
