Marijuana is a psychoactive drug from the Cannabis plant which is mainly use for recreational as
well as medical purpose (Cerdá, Wall and Feng). In this report, the discussion is made on the
argument “Legalization of Marijuana”, further several articles are reviewed on the subject
matter.
Pacula & Smart describes that marijuana should be legalized it is because this blocks the
formation of memory and it increase the threat of anxiety and depression among adults (Pacula
and Smart). The estimation revealed that it further provides negative health benefits due to raise
in mental illness. However, study revealed that marijuana has positive influence and should be
legalized due to increase relaxation and improving the sensory experience among the person
(Cerdá, Wall and Feng). Further, it is mainly used for the recreational purpose due to increasing
sense of laughter and talkativeness.
The study also revealed that marijuana should be not be medically legalized due to providing
more negative effects such as increasing vomiting, mood alterations and increase heart rate
which results increasing other dangerous diseases among adults (Shi). However, other studies
revealed that it helps in treating cancer and also support in lowering ocular pressure. Therefore,
the researchers argued that it has to be legalized (Powell, Pacula and Jacobson).
From the above, it is concluded that marijuana should not legalized due to increasing various
number of medical and health issues. It is because of this affects the mental and physical health
among the people. Therefore, it increases the negative impact and reduce the concentration level
of the person.
