Strategy 1: The usage of Cooperative Learning: Structured English Immersion (SEI) can be
taught well through the use of cooperative learning strategies. Here, the instructor should take all
the necessary steps to ensure that the teaching and learning process is not exclusive at all. To
achieve this, the instructor should use strategies such as small group discussion. Meaning, the
learners should get an opportunity to collaborate with one another by forming small groups in
which they can share ideas and get to learn from one another. During my time, I had to apply this

Strategy 2: Letting the Lessons to be Auditory and Visual: According to this strategy, the
teaching and learning environment for the ELLs should be characterized by the use of visual
representations. As non-native speakers, ELLs often find it a bit challenging to study English
language. So, to facilitate the learning process, the instructor should make a proper use of the
visual teaching aids such as pictures, videos, and drawings. At the same time, the teacher should
make a proper use of language by using effective communication strategies. When
communicating, the instructor should make a proper use of verbal and non-verbal
communication strategies such as critical listening, audibility, and other relevant non-verbal cues
to reinforce the message. During my time, I had to ensure that I apply this strategy. I improved
the quality of my lesson by incorporating the use of visual aids such as photographs, video clips,
drawings, and charts. They enabled me to teach well by successfully imparting the intended
knowledge to my ELLs.
Strategy 3: Modification of the Vocabularies: The ELLL instructor should be keen on the kind of
vocabulary to use when teaching the ELL learners. ELLs are pupils who have no adequate
knowledge of strong English vocabularies unless they get to learn about them. So, when
teaching, the instructor should use simple terminologies. The simplicity of language is core
because it facilitates learning by encouraging the learners. This is exactly what I did because I
took the necessary measures to use a simple language whose vocabularies were progressing from
simple to complex.
