Introduction
I along with my team completed the assignment 2. It was a great experience in doing the
project. In this project we used every project principles to successfully complete the project. We
learnt numerous lessons during assignment 2. The project was headed by an efficient project
manager who used an efficient leadership skill in the project to manage every key areas of the
project. The project was done on the basis of plan and every project members were assigned with
individual roles and responsibilities (Antonakis & Day, 2017). The roles was assigned according
to our skills and expertise. I was responsible to make the estimated time and cost that would be
required for our project. We faced numerous issues in completing the assessment. The
experience of mine in doing the assignment 2 is shared in this report.
Discussion
Lessons Learnt Layout
When I was assigned with the responsibility of estimating cost I was excited as this was
my first project in my academic carrier. I prepared a proper plan to estimate the time and budget
for our project. For estimating the cost and time required for our project I considered all the
resources for our project as well as the project activities are also considered. I required efficient
communication throughout my activities in the project. Team work also played an effective role
in our project as it enabled us to learn the lessons smoothly (Bryman, 2013). It guaranteed that
the project resources are well organized as well as it helped to guarantee we require less time to
complete our project. I supposed that estimating cost and time of proposed project may be an
easier activity but soon, I realized that estimation of cost and time of a project require high skills
and ideas of project management principles. We were ordered to follow the project plan before

doing out tasks. This helped us to complete the project timely (Chase et al., 2013). The lessons
went parallel to my practical task. This lesson also allow me to layout the budget and time for the
project.
Improvement of the Lessons
In lesson 1 I chose to estimate the cost required for our project because I am well skilled
in calculation and statistics. Therefore, I chose this section of the project. Estimating cost of a
project require high skills of calculation. I was also aware of present market scenario which also
helped me to do my task easily.
SMART Variable Specification
S-Specific The cost estimation in our project was specific as well as defined as
it is an important requirement to proceed with a project.
M-Measurable The estimated cost was seemed to be appropriate as we can
complete our project within the estimated price range. Hence, cost
estimation was measured in this way (Ciulla, 2014). I considered
specific value for every resources which helped us to manage the
prices and resist them in the estimated budget.
A-Achievable Completing our project within the estimated price range allow us to
achieve the project aim and goals.
R-Relevant I chose cost estimation part of our project as it is a critical part of
our project and relevant too. The lesson learnt from this project can
be applied in my future project and hence the project seemed to be
relevant for me.
T-Time Bounded During the preparation of the whole project plan, each of the
project members were assigned with individual responsibilities and
we are bounded to complete our task in a definite time (Jo, Kim &
Yoon, 2015). I easily maintained the time for completing my task
as I prepared a proper procedure to proceed with my task.
In lesson 2, I was assigned with the responsibility of estimating the time required for our
project. Time management is another critical factor for our project. The project required high
time for completion.

SMART Variable Specification
S-Specific Time management is specific for our project as the project had to
be completed within a definite time range.
M-Measurable We completed our lessons timely, this allow me to measure the
time management done by me.
A-Achievable My task was achievable by completing the task timely within the
estimated time frame.
R-Relevant Time management is relevant to our project as according to my
estimation all the project activities will be performed and updated
according to the changes (Yukl, 2013).
T-Time Bounded During the preparation of the whole project plan, each of the
project members were assigned with individual responsibilities and
we are bounded to complete our task in a definite time. I easily
maintained the time for completing my task as I prepared a proper
procedure to proceed with my task.
Conclusion
Therefore, I had an outstanding experience by learning the lessons of assignment 2 where
I learnt numerous lessons regarding my core activities. Moreover, I also learnt few leadership
skills from the project leader. The immense and high team work also allow me to learn more
regarding project management principles. Leadership skills and teamwork in this particular
project encouraged me towards proceeding with my future projects.
