Dear Arvind,
How are you? Hope you would be doing well. This letter is in reference to the presentation you
made on “allowing workers to work from home” two months back. I was deeply influenced by
the presentation; however, I forgot to figure out the particulars that you mentioned at that time.
Now, the reason for recalling the presentation is due to my intention to introduce the very same
concept in my company “Fast Track Logistics” where I hold the vice president position for the
administration. I know that you are the best person to help me out in this regard. I am bit
confused and had a few sets of questions which you can only answer as you did in the
presentation two months back. It would be great of yours if you inform me of the cost savings
that your company had achieved by implementing the work from home strategy. This will help
me to figure out whether the same strategy will be impactful for my company as well. When you
write to me to inform the cost savings then please do also let me know whether the savings were
related to the salaries. Please do also put the focus on how to measure the performance if staffs
are being permitted to work from home. Please let me know the ways to measure their actual
performance. Please do also educate me on whether the group orientation can also be maintained
while adopting the work from home strategy. I will eagerly wait for your valuable comments and

2. A Letter Denying the Request
Dear employees,
Please be noted that I have inspected your requests from various perspectives. I have though tried
to accept the requests and allow you to include your friends also who are not the employees of
my company. However, I believe that there will be quite a lot of problems if I proceed with your
request. I have already made the budgets which will get affected if I decide to go with your
requests. I do really believe that you being the loyal employees of my company would never
want this. Let me also tell this to all of you that interaction between employees will hamper and
you might wish to spend times with your friends only. This would nothing but waste the
opportunity to create a strong bonding between the employees. Adding teams would also mean a
change in roster and schedules. This is not feasible at this point in time. I do respect that social
time with families and friends is important; however, that should never be this way. As you all
know that the company is already engaged in sponsoring a family based holiday party and also
an annual picnic, there is no point in being rebellion to my perspectives. I do really expect that
you all understand what I had tried to convey. I expect a dedicated cooperation from you all on
what I have decided regarding the inclusion of non-employees in Brighton’s Games Carnival.
