Introduction

The main professional skills that are required by an applicant for the library

The skills which I believe I will excel at are scheduling and supervising. I am a person
who like building a plan and following it to the T. I have the habit of scheduling my every
day at the start of the day and I believe this quality will help me in performing the different
tasks, especially the ones with deadlines in an effective manner. The service which I am
excited about is the collection development and various tasks related to access services as
there are some activities associated with this aspect which I eagerly want to learn.
Skills I have to Improve & Focus on
Though I have all the mental skills that I will require in fulfilling the responsibilities
associated with a library technician, I need to work on the roles that require physical strength.
The job posting clearly states that the tasks associated with the curriculum desk require lifting
of medium to heavy weight objects. As, I am a person who does not like such physical work
and mostly I lose my cool while performing such tasks, thus, I believe that this is one skill
which I need to focus on seriously and bring some improvements.

The interview was conducted with Robert Marshall on call, who is the library service
coordinator at the George Brown College in Toronto. He replied to the various questions-
 During my last year of college at the Trent University, I decided to become a library
technician and wanted to work with a college as I was very inspired with the roles
that the library technician at Trent University performed. I was close to him, so I get
to know the values of being a library technician.
 After my diploma in library technician, I was looking for a job and I joined George
Brown University as a user service representative. I applied for the job through the
online portal of the university and got hired. I worked under this position for one year
and later I was promoted to the position of E-resource library technician. I was
interviewed for the job, but the thing that got me this position was the work I did with
the university for a year.
 After becoming the library service coordinator, I love everything about my job as I
have fulfilled my dream. But to be specific I love the coordination part of my work as
I engage with many people.
 I hate being strict with the juniors, especially scolding them, when they do not
complete the work in the given deadline.
 The key skills which every library technician should possess are coordinating,
scheduling, and also pushing the technicians working under them.
Conclusion
This will be the most appropriate job for me as due to the professional skills which I
