This report investigates the impact of staff motivation schemes on employee retention at Lidl, a prominent supermarket chain in the UK. It begins by defining staff motivation and its importance in enhancing employee morale and productivity. The study explores how motivation schemes such as mentorship programs, perks, continuous feedback, and training initiatives can improve employee retention rates at Lidl. It also identifies challenges faced by Lidl in formulating effective motivation strategies, including diverse employee needs, low self-confidence, communication gaps, and clarity issues regarding organizational goals. The research methodology employs a positivism approach with a deductive research design, utilizing both primary data collected through questionnaires from 30 Lidl employees and secondary data from various sources. The analysis of the questionnaire data reveals insights into employee familiarity with motivation concepts, preferred motivation strategies, and perceived challenges. The report concludes with recommendations for Lidl to enhance its staff motivation schemes and improve employee retention.
