Introduction
The foremost determination of the paper is to highlight the importance of the life review
interview regarding the life story of an individual, identification of the legacies, importance of
older adult and the degree of ego integrity reached by the older adult.
Overview
According to me, life experiences help in understanding the interest and the background
of the people (Mendez‐Luck et al., 2016). The future decision making can be also impacted by
the help of life experiences (Kõu et al., 2015). The identification of the legacies is useful to
understand the heritage and the settlement which are practically needed in our daily life.
Leading a healthy life can be easier if we take reviews from the experienced aged
peoples. According to me, development of a reliable sense can be done using the ego integrity
reached by the older adult.
Gerontologic nursing principles
According to me, gerontological nursing standards and principals can be very much
useful to improve the morale of older adults (Lommi et al., 2015). The quality of life of the older
adults can be improved with the help of the gerontological nursing techniques.
Theory
I believe that the theory of gerotranscendence which states about the development of the
human from the early stages to the older adults (Grayshield et al., 2015). At the same time, I also
think that there is a different crisis in implementing this theory in real life.

Reflective statements
o According to me, the experience of the old adults should be utilized in a professional
manner in our society.
o I also believe that principals and the standards of gerontological nursing should be
properly implemented so that constructive opinions can be obtained from the adults.
o I think that the theoretical frameworks for caregiving and care receiving should be
practised more in our society.
How did you feel about the conversation?
Based on the conversation it can be said that we can understand lots of aspects associated
with older adults such as their means of motivation, importance of gerontological nursing, value
of the experiences they gathered in their life time and the different ways of leading a healthy life.
Did it cause you to think about how you or your loved ones are aging?
Yes, it made me believe that we should start focusing on the future generations who can
utilize the experiences which we are having right now. According to me, gerontological nursing
techniques should be focused hugely as it has a brighter prospect in our society.
Any changes you might want to make in your lifestyle?
I believe that we should change our life style, our food habits and our approach in many
ways so that we can lead a healthier life during the last stages of our life. We should be setting an
example for the future generations how to lead a healthier life.

Parts of the interview that were particularly significant or upsetting to you?
Yes, there were instances in the conversation which could have been easily ignored.
Initially the participant was not very much comfortable sharing her life experiences as she
thought that the data which we are collecting may be compromised. Especially during the end of
the conversation the participant was showing her concerns about why the conversation is being
conducted.
Conclusion
The importance of the ageing process in our society and value of the experience from the
older adults can be concluded from this paper. The importance of revising the techniques used in
the hospital for the aged patients can be understood from the standards maintained in
gerontological nursing.
