INTRODUCTION
Lifecyle development is really a necessary topic to be discussed. Each person has to
deeply understand its lifecycle for gaining effective outcomes in daily lives. Basically, analysis
of lifecycle development topic aware different people about how to develop own health aspect
for living a healthy and wealthy lifestyle. In this dynamic and modern world, the value of
lifecycle development is day to day increasing, because when any person takes steps towards
developing its lifecycle for improving its levels of health (Trauzettel and Minge, 2016).
Currently many institutes exist in the United Kingdom which teach about this topic of lifecycle
development to different people in market place. This report discusses the lifecycle development
aspect of different children of Morgan family. Currently Harry and Jake are two brothers in this
family with age of nine and six respectively, and these both brothers face learning disabilities, so
they have required special and specific education statements to behavioural and emotional
difficulties. Currently Jake has health issue of asthma as well.
This reports basically discusses that, how a social worker needs to help and support
children, when they are in trouble. For example; currently Harry (Nine) and Jake (Six) are not
able to understand emotions of people, and their parents are also completely careless, in which
this is the responsibility of local healthcare authority to provide foster home to these both
children, because recently Harry and Jake were found wandering the streets by a neighbour.
According to current situation of both brothers, existing social workers’ team should be focused
on providing an excellent service to these brothers. However, according to the case study, local
authority has already taken an appropriate step towards providing them better accommodation
facility in the foster home (Rao, Sekharaiah and Narayan, 2018). On the other side, the report
discusses different stages of the lifecycle of Harry and Jake as well. Some relevant theories and
models also have been used in this report which can properly explain lifecycle development.
Some key factors also have been discussed in this report which will show the actual importance
of lifecycle development.

TASK 1
Different stages of the lifecycle
Life cycle development refers to all those process from a child to become a adult. A
special care is needed in this and if children's were not proper care then it will impact on their
growth. It is very necessary for parents to look their children in early stages so that upbringing
can be properly done. Jack is 6 year child whose parents are properly concern about him and
which leads to effect on his life cycle development. There are 3 stages which describe lifecycle
of human beings childhood, Adulthood and old age.
Social
Parents of Jack are alcoholic and drug addict which effect on Jack’s life. He often roams
around the places alone and remains close to sibling which makes him introvert. Physical abuse
in the family can make him a criminal and hence needful care is needed by care houses. Father
and mother difference may highly affect on his social behaviour. Might be he dislike relations
and may be influence by it which can create multiple problems if he gets married (Peek and
Domingue, 2020). There are number of challenges that are face by child such as not able to learn
and hence study effected. Jack also has asthma which makes him unhealthy and also increases
chances of Irritability. Jack need proper attention care as it will impact on his future lifestyle and
may be become mentally challenged.
Emotional
Parents of the child are not close to each other which change the definition of relationship
for jack. Child become emotional sick because of parents are not concentrated on him and
remain busy in maintaining their own lifestyle. Drug addiction and alcoholic nature of father and
mother sometimes scared the child. In such cases jack might be started living alone or try to
addict such kind of addiction which affect his future life. Shifting to care home may also impact
on his life because for good upbringing parents are needed and early childhood always need their
care.
Cognitive

A number of problem started in jack such he is not able to learn properly and remain
separate from people. Try to explore places alone or with his sibling but not able think and
recognize. A parent of child has hatred for each other which again creating wrong memory in
child’s mind and might be suffered from metal disabilities. Physical abuse between parents
harming his mind more than his body and this memory will effect on his development.
Physical development
Parents do not take interest in child upbringing and remain busy in their own life which
effected physical development. Jack is suffering from asthma as well as disabilities. Early age
need proper food and diet while his mother and father in most of night remain out from house
which leads to empty stomach and hence become barrier in growth of the child. Child also not
likes to play with other and other parents also not allow in such cases which is necessary for
overall development of children.
Nurture and Nature in development of Jack and his siblings
Parents fighting and difference affected on these children’s and most of develop various
kinds of disabilities such as learning one in Jack. Also they started scared of parents and not feel
to say or talk. If they get proper treatment and upbringing then this problem might be overcome
and they develop physically and mentally (Gambaro and Joshi, 2016).
TASK 2
Analysis of different needs at various points of the lifecycle
A person has different needs at its different stages of lifecycle. For example; in the stage
of children, a person has need of care and pamper, then at the teen stage of lifecycle, there is a
person has need to games and sports. When a person reaches at its young stage of lifecycle, then
its needs become changed. For example; most young people has need of social life, love and
belonginess, etc. After the young stage of lifecycle, a person has reached at its adult stage, then it
has need of earning money, manage family, gain wealth etc. At the end, a person faces the stage
of oldness, and then its needs also become changed with its lifecycle stage. For example; an old
person always needs of care, medicines etc.

Basically, definitions of human needs continuously change of according to changing
stages of its life (Batarseh and Gonzalez, 2018). For example; when a person is in its childhood
stage, then it has different needs and when that same person reaches at its lifecycle stage of
adultness, then its needs also become change according to lifecycle stage. There are some
relevant theories has been used below which can support to systematically understand actual
definition of needs.
Maslow’s theory of needs
Maslow’s theory of need is very helpful for understanding major needs and requirements
of humans. Many people and businesses in market place considers this theory as a theory of
motivation as well. Basically, many organisations use this theory for knowing actual needs of
their employees, and then they take steps towards motivating employees on the basis of their
needs. The Maslow’s theory of needs or hierarchy of needs was mainly developed by Graham
Maslow in year 1943, in which this theory discusses five major human needs which has been
discussed below;
Physiological needs: These are basically prime needs of humans’ physiological needs means
needs which enable to person for easily surviving in market place. Mainly food, air, clothes and
water etc. needs of people comes under these physiological needs. Basically, a person can’t live
without fulfilling these needs, but currently Jake and his brother Harry is not able to fulfil these
needs, because they don’t have meals or food (Fraga, Vegetti and Leone, 2020). Their parents
are not caring about their meals’ timings, so they are facing challenges in fulfilling these needs.
Safety needs: Safety needs basically motivates to people for living in a safe and secure zone,
because healthy body is very precious aspect to different people in market place. However, Jake
is not safe right now, because their parents are very alcoholic, so they are not able to take care of
their children. However existing local social workers now fulfilled these needs of Jake and Harry
by putting them into foster home.
Love and belongingness: Need of love and belongingness is also very important to humans in
market place. Each person wants social life, like to make friends and squad in market place
(Stark, Fresemann and Lindow, 2019). In this situation, Jake and Harry are not able to fulfil these
needs, because Jane and Mark not take their responsibility of child caring.

Esteem needs: These are needs which motivates to humans for putting their huge efforts in daily
live for improving its levels of dignity, achievements and independence. Basically, a person
always tries to improve its dignity by working in social welfare, because when it works in the
welfare of social welfare, then people will respect that person in the society. At the end, after
gaining huge respect in the society, that person’s levels of dignity will be automatically
improved (Diaz and et.al., 2019). These needs influence to people for working effectively at well
at any workplace in order to take appreciation from the seniors.
Self-actualisation: These needs are the greatest needs within the Maslow’s theory, in which a
person has realised about its potential, personal growth and self-fulfilment. Many times, a person
has innovated new kind of needs as well for day to day improving its levels of self-potential.
Self-actualisation needs influences to people for setting a desire, and take some appropriate
actions towards achieving that desire.
Outlining theories concerning identity including race/culture or disability
Basically, Race, Culture and Disability are bringing together for leading social workers
for exploring issues of race, disability ad culture in rehabilitation practice and science. Topics
like how to create determinations of disability with people through diverse various cultural
backgrounds to address health issues of cultural mistrust and cultural competence in service
provision has been clearly presented. According to the case study, existing time period is not
favourable for Jake and his brother, because both are having disabilities of learnings, and there is
Jake has health issue of Asthma as well. These are two main problems to Jake, but on the other
side, behaviour of own parents is also a big issue for both brothers. In the UK, this is a common
culture of local people that, they help to those people in the society who has some disabilities or
any health issues (Korzh, 2017). This is the main reason that local social worker was timely
reached at the house of Jake, and picked up them for offering them proper accommodation.
Jake’s needs and the consequences of his needs which not being met
These all are major stages of lifecycle to a human being, in which currently Jake is in its
stage childhood, so it has needs of care and pamper, but having unfavourable parents, he is not
able to fulfil its needs. Jake is facing the health of asthma as well. Basically, his mom and dad
are very alcoholic, and his dad many times takes drugs as well, because he is a drug addict

personality. On the other side, his mother also takes too much alcohol, and now she is able make
stable her mind. Many times, Jake’s father Mark physically abuse her mother Jane as well. In
this situation, this existing family background of Jake is not appropriate as well as favourable to
his needs of present childhood lifecycle stage (Wakil and Jawawi, 2017). This is the main reason
that, a local team of social workers needs to provide an effective health care services in his
present stage of life, and try to enable him for living life as other normal people.
Jake’s needs are completely interrelating with his future development. For example;
currently he has need of proper health support, in which if he not achieves proper health care
support, then it future will directly influence to its future. Currently he is not able to learn
anything in just few time periods as other child, because he has disability of learning, he takes
too much time for reading anything and then analyse matter which he has recently read. Due to
this disability he has need of behavioural and emotional education to learn different things as
normal people. On the other side, he has need of parents’ support as well, and this is the main
reason behind his present condition. Reason is, if his properly take care of their child, then they
can also be motivated to effectively learn (Altavilla and Montagna, 2019). Currently Maslow’s
love and belonginess needs are main needs of Jake, because after fulfilling these needs, he will
simply be developed in the future. He is not only a guy in the United Kingdom who is suffering
from this condition, because currently there are many children exists in market place who has the
same issues as Jake.
Currently local social workers need to provide him emotional and behavioural education
for improving its various capabilities and efficiencies the future. A social worker needs to
understand this small thing that, of course this is the tough time period to Jake, but if worker has
properly helped him, then his future will be safe and secure, and he will be enabled to develop
his different attributes in the future.
Socio-economic status of Jake’s family is not favourable to his needs, because currently
this status has very negatively impacted to his needs in market place. Basically, his father Mark
is completely a drug addict, and he many times harms and abuses his mother as well. On the
other side, both mother and father always wastage their earnings in buying consuming alcohol,
that’s why existing socio-economic status of Jake’s family is not good. Due to having this status,
he is not able to fulfil its various prime needs (Biró and et.al., 2016). For example; he doesn’t

have enough meals to increase its calories in stage of childhood, because childhood stage of
lifecycle is the growing stage to a person, so it has required proper meals and food & beverage
items to maintain an effectiveness in their body calories. In the currently situation, there is a local
child care authority is now helping to these bother Jakes and Harry, and this initiative of social
workers of authority will positively affect to needs of Jake and his brother.
TASK 3
Application of lifecycle development theories
Currently Maslow’s theory of needs is fully relevant to explain different dynamic of the
Morgan family, and this theory is very favourable for showing existing needs of Jake as well.
This theory will help to professionals and social workers to easily understanding the existing
needs of Jake and his brother Harry. After using these theories, social workers of child care
authority for taking productive steps towards fulfilling the actual needs of both brothers (Dubey
and McInnes, 2017). On the other side, this theory will help in Jake’s lifecycle development as
well, and this is the main reason that, Maslow’s theory of needs is very important in the
development of existing situation Morgan family and Jake.
According to Malow’s theory, there are proper meals, food etc. are prime needs to a
person when he is in its lifecycle stage of childhood, in which Jake is also a six years old child,
and he also has need to proper meals and food & beverage items (Schiel and Turner, 2018). In
this situation, this factor of Jake will motivate to different social workers of local child care
authority to properly support him by offering healthy meals in the foster home. When he will
take healthy food, then it can be simply developed in the future physically as well as mentally.
Maslow’s theory said that, safety and security are also prime needs of humans, in which
when anyone talk about Morgan family, then it will be found the children of this family are not
safe and secure. Basically, parents Mark and Jane are not taking their reasonability of
guardianship in manner, because both are very alcoholic, and has suffered from depression and
anxiety. In this situation, Jake is not able to fulfil its needs of safety and security, because his
parents are not taking caring of him (Vester, 2017). On the other side, there are love and
belongingness also major needs of Jake, because his parents Mark and Jane are in depression,

and get addicted to take drugs, so they are not able to give some love and pamper to Jake, Harry
and other children.
There are various social workers of local child authority need to provide excellent care
support to these children for fulfilling their various prime needs. Currently Jake is really in
trouble, so social worker needs to help him for developing its lifecycle.
CONCLUSION
On the basis of above findings, it can be concluded that Jake and his brother Harry are
facing lots of issues in their personal lives due to having inappropriate parents, in which local
social worker should give them chance to live in the foster home for the long time period. This is
really a necessary task to social worker for motivating Jake and his bother for effectively
learning as other normal people. However, provide facility of foster house to Jake and Harry is
also an appreciable initiative of local authority. Now social workers of this authority should be
focused on providing emotional and behavioural education, because after taking this education,
Jake and Harry can simply develop their learning capabilities in the future. It can be also
concluded that the Maslow’s theory of needs completely relates with the current situation of Jake
and his family. Due to having unfavourable family background, Jake is not able to fulfil its
various essential needs, in which social workers of local child care authority need to support Jake
by fulfilling its various needs.
