Lifelong learning process defines the learning process where the person gain the
knowledge I a continuous process. Through the lifelong learning, the learning does not stop
after the completion of the course or degree. The knowledge can be gained on the demand of
the situation or for the problem solving purpose.
For an ICT professional lifelong learning is an important process. The ICT industry is
changing rapidly. Apart from that there are different emerging technologies innovating with
the progress of the time. In this case, it is required for the ICT professional to be updated
regarding the changes and the new innovations in the ICT (Hult, Byström and Gellerstedt
2016). In order to do this lifelong learning is important (Tondeur et al. 2016). With the
innovation of the new technology regarding ICT, the professionals have to learn about the
usage and the functionalities of that respective technology. As, for example, the innovation of
the drone delivery is an emerging technology (Van den Beemt and Diepstraten 2016). The
ICT professionals working in the industry for many years do not know about the drone
delivery system at initial stage. At this point in order to implement the system I the
organization they need to learn about the functionalities of drone delivery system.
Answer to question no 2:
In order to become a lifelong learner, the approach towards the learning is needed to
be changed. In this case, the professionals should be flexible to adopt the new technology in
an easy way. Before adopting the use of the new technology, the professionals have to
understand the usefulness of the new technology and how it is relevant for the organization
and industry. The professional should check if the selected technology belongs to his or her
domain (Alt 2018). As for example, the person working with the development of the software

may not be flexible enough to implement the circuit and hardware design of the new
technology.
The planning for the adaptation of new technology starts from the identification of the skills
needed to learn that technology. After that mostly self-learning along with trial and error
method can be effective.
Answer to the question no 3:
For doing the task, I have to search through internet regarding the concept of lifelong
learning and its relevance for the IT professionals. The discussions found over internet has
helped me to gain some ideas regarding the concept.
While doing the task I have gained new knowledge and experience. The task was not
hard to be completed as the information are available on internet. However, the building of
the concept regarding the lifelong learning and its relevance with the ICT professional was
the critical part. However, I am aware about the dynamic nature of the ICT industry. In this
case, I can relate the relevance of getting updated with the time for the professionals at ICT
industry through lifelong learning.
The thing I have learnt from the task is that lifelong learning is relevant for all the
industry professionals. For ICT professionals, the learning process is more important as the
industry requires the implementation of new technology every time. However, the lifelong
learning process can be available for the common people from the different fields as the
knowledge they gained will help them in long run.
The task will encourage to be knowledgeable for the further improvement of the
actions or tasks taken by me in the industry. This will help me in long run. I can gain
knowledge from the different sources and can find the relevant technology for the
organization.
