It can be stated that there are wide range of ways and strategies which can be used in
order to carry out lifelong learning. For example lifelong learning can be carrying out with the
help of using strategies such as self learning. It can be defined as the process in which a person
acquires new skills and knowledge without taking direct supervision from others. Another key
strategy which can be used for self learning is of attending training and development sessions at
frequent intervals (Blatt. and Bless, 2013). These sessions supports a person in getting aware
about the recent developments and make provide individuals with an opportunity to enhance
their skills set and knowledge base.

One of the main and most important benefits of self managed learning is that it helps in
providing better growth opportunities to an individual. By using various approaches of self
managed learning, a person is able to acquire new skills and enhance his/her overall
competitiveness. This directly contributes in providing better and more satisfactory growth
opportunities (Westenberg, Blasi. and Cohn, 2013). Apart from this, it can be stated that another
major benefit associated with self learning is that it provides a very flexible way of learning
things and acquiring new concepts. The rationale behind this is that such kind of learning
results in providing complete kind of flexibility to a person wherein he/she can set own
schedules.

In context of own current skills and competencies against the professional standards and
organizational objectives, it can be stated that I am required to work upon my communications
skills (Luyten. and Blatt, 2013). This will support me to clearly communicating my ideas and
strategies to other. Other than this, I am also required to work upon my time management skills
in order to achieve the aim and objective of organization. Development of time management
skills will results in completion of all my task and activities within given time frame. However,
it can be critically argued that I am having effective leadership skills which is supporting me to
manage my work and team members in the best possible manner (MacDonald, 2012).
