The planned project of Sunshine Coast Light Rail project aims at constructing a comprehensive and

the project is expected to offer 100,000 new high value job opportunities on the Sunshine Coast by 2033.
Five strategic priority of the project covering improved lifestyle, employment opportunities, increased

Within the 2012, task force specially completed with pre-feasibility study and rapid economic appraisal.
With the help of assessment of task force pre-feasibility, study should be determined in order to make
successful operations. During the 2013 council completed the initial round of the feasibility studies
funded by the common wealth government. Study is focused on the busy coastal area in which project is
established among Maroochydore city center and Sunshine.
Sunshine Coast is one of the fastest growing regions in Australia which needs to create a plan for
protecting the environment and lifestyle. It will also assist region to promote the tourist sector by
attracting more and more people to come and visit the place.
Thus, Sunshine Coast Light Rail Project has been decided to undertaken for promoting considerable
growth of the Sunshine Coast in coming decades. Light rail is a transportation mode that will drive
number of benefits beyond transportation services only. The main target of the planned project is to faster
the community. It will not influence the local economy but also helps to sustainable progress of Sunshine
Coast. Modern light rail system is an ideal for the urban areas and can promote accessibility with
reduction in traffic and ensure larger space availability for the parking purpose. Investment in

framework. Thus, the key focus of the light rail project is to provide reliable, affordable and frequent

This project has huge scope it can help in gaining high profit o the project manager and can make it

style of individuals. In the meeting SEQ regional plan has been developed by the authorities that will
help in acknowledging the needs of passengers. Apart from this it would be beneficial for future
investigation between Maroochydore to Caloundra. It will develop better understanding about the
costing and planning.
Time:
Time is one of the important part of any project hat can decide whether project will be fruitful or not. It
will take time to make improvements in the existing network. Rapid buses will take short term and it
will be ready within six months. On other hand development of light rail will be time consuming
project. It will take approx two to three year time duration. Within this period project manager will be
able to complete the project successfully.
Cost:
Construction cost is very high but that will visually impact positive on the passengers those who will
use this service. In long run actual cost of light rail will be less as compare to short time duration. It is
forecast that approx cost of initial stage in which development from Maroochydore to Kawana is done
will cost $1.3 billion. Project manager is required to calculate the cost effective and individual has to
look upon the projects in other places as well. It has been forecast that maroochydore to kawana will
cost $1,300 million, Kawana to Caloundra will be $700 million and overall cost would be $2,000
million.
