Brief introduction of the chapter and the research:
The research is based on the analysis of the factors that can create linguistic barrier
for the Romanian adults in Bedfordshire. In order to figure out and understand the factors
properly, secondary research has been conducted. The survey question has served the
researcher with the ability to assess the interest of people in the way of learning the language
and the mode, through which they are able to use English as their second language. From the
findings, it is evident that most of the Romanians are now migrating to UK with the intension
of getting job and earning a better life (Roman 2019). However, from the findings it is also
evident that the Romanians wish to interact with those people, who can speak in their native
language. It is true that the Romanians show extreme willingness in order to move to UK in
order to get job (Andreouli and Howarth 2019). However, Simionescu et al. (2019) argued by
saying that they face major issues in the way of adopting the culture of UK due to their
linguistic barrier. This is the last chapter of dissertation, in which concluding statement
regarding the research will be presented. In this chapter, a brief summary of the findings will
be presented. Recommendation for mitigating the linguistic barrier will also be presented in
the paper.
Summary of findings based on each research question:
Comprehensive knowledge over English helps the people to integrate in a new
country and find employment (Hyland 2019). Still, the roman people are facing major issues
in the way of moving successfully to UK due to their linguistic barrier. It had been observed
that the rate of immigrants in UK is rapidly increasing which is acting as a driving force
behind European Union to take proper care towards their policies and procedures. There are
some of the vital factors that are driving motivation among the people to migrate to UK
(Tileaga et al. 2019). Getting higher and decent standard of living is one of the major reasons,

for which the Romanian people are showing interest in the way of migrating to UK. It is
believe among Romans that by migrating to UK, they will be able to earn a happy and decent
life. In addition, meeting with the known people is another major motivation for the
Romanian people to migrate top UK. From the result of survey, it is evident that the
Romanian show their willingness to migrate to UK, when their known people are there who
can speak in the same language (Górny and Kaczmarczyk 2019).
Getting job is one of the biggest motivational factor for the people to migrate to UK.
According to the result of survey, more than 50% of respondents are employed in the semi-
skilled and unskilled jobs due to their lower level of education. It had been observed that
most of the Romanian people go to UK with the intension of having a decent standard of
living. However, they face major problem in the way of adopting with new culture. Jordan
(2020) stated that there is a striking difference in between the British culture and the roman
culture. Thus, people have to gain in-depth knowledge about the British culture before
planning to migrate to UK (Fischer-Souan 2019). There lies the main problem, which the
Romanian people are facing. Lack of education and comprehensive linguistic barrier, it is
becoming difficult for the people to understand the British culture and adjust with the same
successfully (Cook 2016).
It had been observed that discrimination is one of the major issues, which is creating
severe potential barrier for the people to search job in UK. Apart from discrimination,
language is one of the major factors that are creating barrier for the Romanian to
communicate efficiently. The most significant factor to consider here that the employers of
UK also show reluctant attitude acknowledging the skills and competencies of Romanian
people due to the linguistic barrier. In the foreign country, the process of learning a certain
language is quite difficult. Most of the Romanian people learn English for the sake of getting
job and thereby help their company financially (Andreescu 2019). From the primary research,

it is evident that the respondents are highly willing to learn correct English grammar, which
can help them to communicate properly.
Education is one of the major aspects, which can help in assessing the degree of
learning of Roman people. From the survey, it is evident that that there are very less number
of people, who hold post graduate and a master’s degree. Contrary to which, there are wide
ranges of people, came to UK are educated in the post-secondary school. However, these
people are not being recognised in UK even after qualification (Harris et al. 2019). It can be
said that lack of education, especially post-graduate degree is the major barrier, for which the
Romanian are not being acknowledged by the employer of UK. This is the reason, for which
they used to look for semi-skilled job in UK. In addition, such lacking is generating fear in
mind among the Romanian regarding whether they are able or not to get job in accordance
with their qualification. From the cultural point of view, it had been observed that the
Romanians used to communicate in English in very decent manner, only for the sake of work.
Thus, they put stress on learning language for job purpose. Moreover, the romans also love to
watch Romanian TV shows as it is easy to comprehend (Johnson 2017). According to the
survey, the Romanian do not like to watch English television show and prefer to shop from
the Roman shops.
Research limitations:
The research is based on evaluating the factors that are creating severe linguistic
barrier for the Romanian people. In order to collect the data, primary research has been
conducted. However, while carrying out the research, the researcher have faced certain
limitation. Restricted timeframe and very limited financial resources were the main imitation
of the research. Due to very less period of time, it has become difficult for the researcher to
get relevant data and information from various available sources. If the researcher would

have get much amount of time, then it would be easy for him to gather more valuable and
relevant information, which will play a major role in enhance the quality of the research. In
addition, lack of budget has also created barrier for the researcher to access costly books or
journal article. This is the reason, for which the researcher has to depend on the website,
which may raise the concern on authenticity of the research. In the research, the researcher
has only conducted primary research. Thus, he has acquired very limited information. If he
could have used secondary, then he would have got much relevant information.
Recommendations for future research:
The topic of this dissertation is very much important as the Romanian are
facing severe issues in the way of migrating to UK and get job. Any study related to this topic
will always hold certain impact. After the completion of this research, the future researcher
can get relevant information easily from various valuable sources, which will play a major
role in strengthening the core value of the research. It is to be noted here that in future, the
researcher can conduct research on other ethnic group, who wish to migrate to the developing
countries for the sake of getting job and live a decent life. In addition, in future the researcher
can also conduct research on the role of governmental funding in mitigating the factors that
are creating linguistic barrier for the Romanian to migrate to UK. It had been reported that
financial constraints are the biggest barrier, which are making it difficult for the Romanian to
migrate to UK. There lies the significance of funding. Thus, in future, it is important to
conduct research on the role of funding.
From the survey, it is evident that strong action needs to be taken in order to respond
towards the challenges, faced by the Romanian in the way of migrating to UK and get job.
From the survey, it is evident that culture plays a major role in terms of enabling them to
learn English language. This is spoken by most of the Romanian people only for their work

purpose. Thus, it is important to keep the roman people motivated to attend in the course on
English language. Implementation of right teaching strategy is one of the major ways of
running the course easily. In addition, it is important for the teachers to create comfortable
learning environment, which can facilitate the learning of Romanian. Research must be
conducted in future in order to show how government can develop new cabinet-level
Committee and implement comprehensive policy for the sake of dealing with the migration
related issues properly. At the same time, the researcher can also conduct research on how the
teachers can use simple language in order to run the process of commutation easily and
thereby mitigate the degree of complexity in the entire teaching process. This is the way,
through which the teachers can be able to teach English in a simple and easy manner.
