REFLECTION ON EXPERIENCE OF LEARNING LINKDIN COURSES
The reflective model highlights my experience of learning LinkedIn courses by applying
Gibbs reflective model. Specific model has been applied, as it will assist an individual in
becoming aware about his or her own actions as well as improving their behaviour.
Competencies gained through engaging in LinkedIn learning process
I enrolled myself for the different LinkedIn courses such as SPSS for Academic research,
Endnote essential training, Google form essential training and Nvivo 2018 essential training
along with second year Master programme. I have taken admission in LinkedIn courses with the
purpose of enhancing my research as well as employability skills. I have performed the detailed
investigation with respect to information and knowledge that will be attained by enrolling myself
for different LinkedIn courses. After completion of investigation, I analysed that LinkedIn
courses are very much helpful as it enables students to keep updated themselves with latest
technology as well as computer programmes. This will certainly help me in my future
endeavours and also certificates from this course will give me an edge when I will be appearing
in any job interview.
The first module which Learned was SPSS for Academic research. Before starting of the
module we were given brief overview about SPSS and other technical terms. In context of SPSS
for Academic research, the main emphasizes was on executing leading statistical software and
also on interpreting of Quantitative tests. The different topics which have been covered in the
module are analysis of variance, T-tests.
In context of endnote essential training module, I gained knowledge about tedious aspect
of academic research. During the module, I learned about searching of sources and gained
knowledge about creating citation as well as developed understanding about sharing lists of
resources. In this module, I developed understanding about exploring the way to leverage
Endnote X8 for performing investigation. The different topics about which I have gained
knowledge about developing personal reference library, organizing and storing references,
creating and editing citations, and sharing your research.. After completion of the module
endnote essential training, I have been able to develop creative and effective presentation skills.
In addition to this, there has been great improvement in my technical skills.

In the module of the Google form essential training, I learned complete procedure about
building as well as collecting information using specific software. I learned to insert images,
videos and developed understanding about the way of inviting others to collaborate on the form.
The Nvivo 2018 essential training module was related to the quantitative analysis. At the
mid of this module, we have been asked to collect, organize and analyse non-numerical facts.
Before starting of module, my instructor has made us about the different terminologies and then
explain us the concept of Nvivo. It is the module, which has assisted me a lot in developing
highly demanded technical as well as creative skills.
Personal view, feeling and experience during learning course
After completion of all modules of LinkedIn courses, I found endnote to be very useful as
it provides ease in managing the academic research in systematic manner. The other thing, which
I have analysed in context of Endnote, is that less time is required in formatting therefore, time
saved can be utilised for conducting more research on subject. I also found Google form to much
beneficial in relation to facilitating survey that involves large number of participants. I believe
that developing questionnaire and collecting the information about specific topic using Google
form is much easier rather than other techniques.
When I first attended SPSS module, I found it quite difficult to develop understanding
about the software. In context of SPSS module, the part, which I found quite interesting and
amazing, was to know about the way SPSS does computation. While I was taught about, the way
calculation is done in SPSS I was thinking about the use of same at some point of my career.
After completion of self-evaluation I realized that the specific issues which I faced while
practicing on SPSS is picking right information out of the results. I perceive that SPSS is useful
tool for analysing only quantitative data and I have also realised that Nvivo is best software that
can be utilised for analysing qualitative data. I also believe that the knowledge about different
software will assists me in making data collection, analysing and interpretation easier as well as
much faster. I think that use of SPSS for analysing the data is an effective strategy as it will aid
in eliminating the chances of error and would help in ensuring right outcome.
After completion of the self assessment I realized that I learn quickly by seeing the
demonstration of the things. I also like to apply the knowledge and skills gained in my routine
work which further assist me in retaining learning for long time.

I prepared questionnaire using template on Google form and share the same with
respondents. After completion of the module, I have tried to input references into Endnote library
using a variety of means. In addition to this, I develop the potential of personalizing database by
applying different features. I also tried to create new projects by utilising NVivo software after
completion of the entire module; I had taken initiative to execute online survey using Google
form. I first designed the questionnaire using template and then share the same with respondents.
After successful gathering of numerical facts, I used the SPSS software for analysing the
information. In addition to this, tried working on SPSS software based on the guidelines given by
tutor and by making different assumption I have performed tests. I had also utilised SPSS for
interpreting the data. After successful completion of the quantitative research while preparing
report I utilised endnote for identifying sources, developing citations that is very much crucial in
order demonstrate data to be highly validate as well as reliable. In addition to this, I tried to use
Nvivo software for executing qualitative investigation. I had taken initiative of importing
different types of content by utilising nodes. I by applying knowledge gained during module
tried coding to organise information. I tried utilising the few charting tools for highlighting some
important aspects of my research project. As I conducted the qualitative research in a group, I
tried to collaborate with my other team members using the Nvivo software. I shared research
project with other group members using the Nvivo server. I have utilise the Nvivo server so that
all other team members can work on same project and at the same time they can code, annotate
as well as link source content. By utilising the Nvivo server, I have been able to continuously
informed my team members about the changes made in project. Due to the knowledge gained
through module I have been able to take responsibility of making final coding decision. I before
importing source material and coding I have taken sufficient amount of time for preparing auto
coding. I with the support of my team members as well as tutor have been able to successfully
develop model for demonstrating the relationship between different data using the Nvivo
software.
In addition to this, I facilitated the regular team meeting for having discussion related to
interpretation and also to discuss the issues faced by team members during the research project
which has been given to us in mid of the module.
In addition to the above, I tried to build new database source in Nvivo by interlinking it
with Google Forms.

Determining effect of Different LinkedIn courses on knowledge and research skills
I performed the self evaluation in order to confirm that I have accomplished the desired
objectives by enrolling and successfully completion of module. Before participating in module I
had only little knowledge about software. By participating in the module of SPSS for Academic
research I have been able to develop understanding of statistical measurement behind academic
research. In addition to this, I have also developed the understanding about qualitative testing
and I gained the knowledge about central theorem. I learn to utilise cases for performing tests in
SPSS. The firm two assignment that our tutor has given us two of assignment and I faced much
difficulty in completing the same as I was completely unfamiliar about the software and at that
moment I felt very much frustrated. However, after completion of two assignments with the
assistance of tutor I have successfully developed the understanding about SPSS and found it
quite interesting to learn.
By attending the module I have been able to create survey and questionnaire. I develop
the understanding about the process of customize response setting. After completion of the SPSS
for academic research module I have been able to develop research, statistical as well as
analytical skills. I gain the potential to interpret data in more systematic manner.
In addition to this, after completion of NVivo 2018 essential training module I have been
able to enhance my organisation skills. After completion of the module, I gained the knowledge
about creating new project as well as importing of documents for instance from word to PDF
file.
Examining the way competencies and knowledge developed can be applied to investigation
project
I can utilise SPSS for analysing and interpretation of data. It can also be used for
performing statistical analysis in relation to quantitative research. By performing statistical tests
using SPSS, I will be able to ensure the reliability as well as validity of data gathered during the
time of investigation. In addition to this, I can use Nvivo, for analysing qualitative information
gathered during research. Nvivo can be utilised for developing new projects and organising of
data in systematic manner that is very much essential for generating better outcome (Barbeau,
2019). I will make use of Nvivo for exporting summary of coding structure to word as well as
Excel that would be shared with my other team members. By utilising Google form, I will create
the online survey for collecting information about specific topic. I would prepare questionnaire

with the help on template in Google form. In addition to this, Google form can be utilised for
sharing of survey form with respondents (Postelnicu, Scarlat and Trifan, 2019).
Identification of way knowledge gained can assist in professional development and skills can be
applied in organisation
The knowledge and skills gained through LinkedIn courses can be applied in routine
work, understanding about different software will help in increasing working efficiency as well
as productivity. In context of SPSS knowledge about software can support an individual in
improving their performance as a researcher (Brooks, 2019). It can assist an individual in
eliminating the chances of error or mistakes. Understanding about SPSS software will support an
individual in performing statistical analysis and provide them an ease in interpretation of data. I
can use SPSS for providing firm with statistical information that could be helpful in formulation
of effective strategies. By applying SPSS, I can easily resolve many complex business problems
just by computing outcomes from huge amount of data. I could utilise SPSS for testing different
hypothesis.
In context of Nvivo, I can utilise this software for organising, storing and retrieving data.
The Google form can be used for conducting the market research for an organisation. By
facilitating market survey through Google form, an individual can provide valuable information
about the customer response towards specific products or other valuable information to company
(Agrawal and Rasouli, 2019). By developing the knowledge of Google form, I could be easily
able to collect information related to conferences or meeting.
Suggestion for future
I suggest utilising the SPSS for performing statistical investigation in the future. Nvivo
can be utilise for preparing the model that can be utilise for demonstrating relationship between
data. It could be specifically utilised for performing analysis of Qualitative data. Nvivo is best
suited for importing of documents and it can also be used for creating new projects. Other
recommendation is to utilise Endnote for sourcing as well as creating and organising citation, as
it assist in automated formatting of references.
