CoinBase
In July 2011, Brian Armstrong and Fred Ehrsam started a new company named as
CoinBase. The company has headquarters in San Francisco, California. In December 2017, the
mobile app of CoinBase became the top rated app in the Apple App store. The company provides
mainly two services: global Digital Asset Exchange (GDAX) is for trading on digital assets and
the second one is user-friendly dealer of Bitcoin, Litecoin and Ether for Fiat currency (Rosen,
2014). The company uses three currencies for exchange and they are Bitcoin, Litecoin and
Ethereum.
Kraken
Founded in 2011 in San Francisco, Kraken is a crypto currency exchange company,
which operates in Japan, Canada, and European countries besides America. Jesse Powell is the
founder of the company ("25 Exchanges to Buy Bitcoin in the United States (2018)", 2018).
Initially the company provided exchange trading only on Bitcoin, Litecoin and EURO. Later,
they expanded their services in fiat and other crypto-currencies like Ethereum, DASH, Zcash and
Bitcoin Cash. Trading can be done in US dollar, Japanese yen, British Pound and even Canadian
Dollar.
LibertyX
LibertyX is considered as the largest bitcoin to cash network working in America. Chris Yim and
Kyle Powers in Boston, Massachusetts launched the company in 2013. As the company does not
provides any wallet to their customers so users has to trade using their own bitcoin wallet. The
company has nearly twenty thousand stories in different states of America today ("25 Exchanges
