1INTRODUCTION TO LITERARY STUDIES
Remember is a prom which was written by the poet Christina Rossetti in the year
1862 in England itself. This is considered to be a classic Victorian poem written by the poet
whose main themes of mourning and remembrance are well liked by both the critics of the
poem as well as the lovers of the poem itself. Hence, the readers of the poem aim to look for
the interpretation of the poem in their own terms and languages.
The purpose of this is to provide an interpretation of the poem Remember
written by Christina Rossetti in the own words by the reader himself.
In analysing the poem written by Christina Rossetti itself, I realized that the statement
made by American poet Robert Frost is actually true for the poem in this case. I feel that this
factor of the poem is reflected in the way the poem starts when the poet urges the readers to
keep her in their remembrance after she is no longer present in the world itself. This is the
line which reflects with the statement which was made by American author Robert Frost
himself.
This statement is perfect for the poem because I feel that the poet in the poem had
talked about the subject matter of mourning and death and how the individuals mourn for the
person who had left them (Shove, 2013). It is because of this topic by the poet that I feel that
the concept of the death is accurate with the opening statements of the poem itself. I feel that
this line can be used by the individual in the society to deal with the problems which affect an
individual after his/her relatives pass away from this world itself (Thomas, 2014).
Thus, it is from this discussion that I feel that Robert Frost’s statements can be used to
accurately represent the mourning and the sad theme of the poem itself. I feel that Robert
Frost had managed to accurately represent the various ways in which the people of the
society should interpret the poem according to the meanings of the poem which they interpret
themselves to the readers of the poem itself. Hence, it is for this this reason that I believe that

the statement of Robert Frost can be used to accurately interpret the subject matter of the
poem Remember, written by Christina Rossetti herself.
