Business communication is consider as a way of
exchanging information and ideas for the purpose of
promoting goals, objectives, purpose and activities of
organisation in order to make profits. This is important
for business organisation to communicate properly with
customers that can satisfy them effectively. To
understand about business communication The Little
Bus Company has been selected that is small size bus
operator company providing travelling services to its
customers. This report is categories in two part, first part
covers challenges and barriers of effective
communication, development of strategies for
overcoming the barriers and culture influences on
communication and negotiation.
Common challenges and barriers to effective
communication
Communication is the procedure of sharing information
between people within and outside a company. The main
aim of organisation of is share the knowledge and
increase the organisational productivity by satisfying the
customers. For instance, in Little Bus Company is
receiving complaints from customers since last 6 months
due to not proper and good communication. Drivers are
not able to understand customers and they behave rude
and intolerant towards who speak English as a second
language. Organisation is facing different types of
communication challenges that are as defined:
Active Listening: This strategy need to acquire and develop
with practice that states a person should concentrate on what
is being said instead of hearing only the message of speaker.
By using this strategy, The Little Bus company can reduce
the communication challenge. As drivers need to listen
actively and calmly and them give answers.
Use of simple language: According to this strategy
audience or speaker should use simple language that can be
easily understood or should avoid jargon and abbreviation.
