1LIVING IN TASMANIA
Tasmania is considered to be the smallest state of Australia. The region is full of
ecological diversity with a vast natural beauty. It can be stated that approximately 40% of the
island state is covered with greeneries full of wilderness, national parks and reserves. Therefore,
the environmental stability of the region is quite good and impressive for living. Moreover, the
cost of living is quiet affordable in Tasmania with a low profile lifestyle. It supposed to be
identified a healthy environment for me to migrate and live in Tasmania. As a matter of fact, I
came here as a tourist in 2016 for a professional purpose and became fond of the living quality
and environment of the region.
As far as my perspective is concerned it can be stated that the living environment in
Tasmania is quite amazing for the people like me who wants good environment both in terms of
relationship with the neighbourhood and the ecological condition. Moreover, the housing cost in
Tasmania is very cheap and affordable for middle class people like me. As a matter of fact, I
have done some research on the living standards and cognate topics through internet and the
government statistics revealed that the capital of Tasmania, Hobart offers the cheapest and most
affordable housing across the country. Besides this, in case of employment, the leading
newspapers of the region like The Mercury, The Examiner and The Advocate, have an
employment column and the government also provides a number of employment opportunities
for the Tasmanian people. Furthermore, the region can be considered as the hub of greeneries
and full of natural diversities of flora and fauna. Therefore, it seems to be the best place for
living. There are some major attractions in Tasmania such as Mt. Wellington, port Arthur
historical site and the Cataract Gorge which are popular for their natural beauties and historical
importances.

2LIVING IN TASMANIA
I visited Tasmania in the year 2016 and one of the reasons behind my visit to this place
was related to my profession. I am associated with the profession of a Sport development officer
and I got my certificate from the government agency to be an expert in this profession. In this
regard, Tasmania provided the best opportunity to practice and develop my profession positively
in some local schools or colleges. In fact, the endorsement and initiatives by the government is
quite significant as the local authority invests $17.6 million in the Sports and Physical Recreation
programme (SPR). In this regard, the government agencies of the Tasmanian government such as
Sports and Recreation Tasmania (SRT), Department of Education and the Department of Health
and Human Services are played significant role in facilitating the practice of sports among the
youths. Despite of having better infrastructure for sports development, the Tasmanian youths
with the age of 15 years and onwards are not entirely active in Sports and Physical Recreation
(SPR) programme. As a result of that the rate of participation is quite low at a percentage of less
than 50%.
The expenditure in the food products are estimated at a rate of AU$ 15 for the basic lunch
menu whereas 1 kg tomatoes or 1 kg potatoes are estimated at a rate of AU$ 6.00 and 3.77
respectively. Besides this, the monthly single bedroom expense will be accounted for AU$998.
Moreover, the monthly costs of electricity and gas for 1 people will be estimated for AU$222. In
case of the conveyance or transportation, the costs of 1 litre gas is priced as AU$1.38 and the taxi
trip on a business day up to 8km is estimated at a price of AU$21. In case of the entertainment,
the estimated cost for 2 movie tickets can be estimated at a price of AU$38. Moreover, dinner in
an Italian restaurant is amounted AU$125. Based on this understanding, it can be argued that the
cost of living in Tasmania is pretty affordable for a person like me.
