Environmental Analysis of LNG Plant Site Locations in Victoria

This project analyzes three potential sites—Dutson, Lang Lang, and Port Compel—for the construction of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant in Victoria. The analysis compares each site across various criteria including environmental impacts (climate, biodiversity, natural disasters, and land degradation), social considerations (hazardous risks, community amenities, tourism, and heritage), and economic factors (operability, cost of land, raw material access, and logistics). The project highlights the advantages and disadvantages of each site, providing a detailed comparison table to facilitate decision-making. The Port Compel site is ultimately recommended as the best location due to its easy access to raw materials through water transport, existing port infrastructure minimizing environmental interference, and reduced logistical challenges. The project emphasizes the importance of maximizing factors of production and embracing a green economy in site selection.
