Homework Assignment
AI Summary
This assignment solution addresses key aspects of logistics and supply chain management. It begins by outlining the advantages and disadvantages of using full-service air carriers, including an assessment of their reliability and accessibility, considering factors such as in-flight comfort, maintenance, and flight frequency. The document then explores the crucial role of transportation within the economy and supply chains, discussing its impact on cost reduction, global trade, and the emergence of smart transportation technologies like autonomous vehicles. It also examines potential issues like environmental impact, congestion, and disruptions. Finally, the assignment differentiates between the Prisoner's Dilemma game and finitely repeated or one-time games, explaining how repeated game theory can influence strategic interactions and cooperation, contrasting with the one-shot nature of the Prisoner's Dilemma.

Advantages and disadvantages for using full-service air carriers:
The full service airline carriers provides the passengers with in-flight entertainment,
checked luggage, foods and comforts like blankets and pillows. One of the greatest
advantages of using full service air carrier is that it helps them to travel in utmost comfort.
The full serve airline carrier offer the customers with bigger leg and seating space, which are
softer and much more comfortable. As the aircraft are large, the travellers doesn’t have to
face any issue related to turbulence (Koklic, Kukar-Kinney & Vegelj, 2017). This is the way,
through which the full-service air carriers are improving experience of the passengers
onboard. However, the full service airlines are less flexible.as the aircraft is larger, it needs
significant maintenance, which is very time consuming and expensive process. This is the
reason, for which the frequency of full service airline is less.
It is true that full service airline offer the passengers offer the passengers with full
comfort and trouble free travelling. However, due to huge maintenance, the frequency of
flights gets hampered. Due to large size, it requires huge time in order to complete the
maintenance process. This affects the degree of availability of the flights and left the
passengers with immense dissatisfaction. This lack of unavailability is also hampering the
degree of reliability of full-service airline (Ferrer-Rosell & Coenders, 2017). In addition,
intense congestion is also affecting the time schedule of flights and causing delay in expected
time. This is also affecting the reliability of full service airlines. Most of the customers are
becoming dissatisfied due to timing and availability issues of full service airline.
Role of transportation in the economy:
Effective operation of transportation is the matter of utmost importance in order to
improve the functionality of supply chain. It determines the movement of products as per the
requirements of customers. Responsive and economical transportation network helps the

companies to implement the strategic changes and thus ensure effective functionality of
supply chain. In addition, responsive transportation promotes end-to-end network visibility,
which allows the firms to centralise their production process to the low cost areas, without
affecting the customer service level. This is the way, through which the customers can
manage their inventory properly and thereby ensure smooth flow of products (Copacino,
2019). However, there are some of the major issues related to transportation, such as
environmental impacts and energy consumption, traffic congestion and increased fuel prices,
which the organisations can face in the way of managing their supply chain.
Transportation is one of the major factors in economic development. Effective
transportation plays a major role in the way of reducing cost which influences the economic
development. In the world market, transportation helps in sending raw materials from one
country to the other, which help in raising the production of products properly. In the era of
international business environment, effective transportation plays a major role in moving
products from one country to the other in accordance with the requirements of customers.
With the advent of technology, the trend of disruption in transportation is emerging promptly.
Advent of technology is resulting in the era of smart transportation, which is resulting in
autonomous vehicles (Dickey, 2017). It is expected that the autonomous vehicle will change
the urban mobility in near future. It will also reduce the traffic fines.
Difference between Prisoner’s Dilemma game and finitely repeated and
one-time game:
Repeated game theory is defined as the positive reinforcement of the mechanism in
the context of formal agreement. According to this theory, it is important to enlist emotion,
which can help in enforcing the contracts. Prisoner’s Dilemma is one or the major examples
of game theory, which shows the reason for which two rational individuals can not cooperate

with each other. This game is concerned with two players, who are suspected for on crime
(Azar (2018). This is basically the paradox within the analysis of decision, who, working for
the same interest cannot produce optimal outcome. This game is set up in such a manner, in
which both the parties can choose in order to safeguard themselves. As the outcome, both the
participants find themselves in a worst state. On the other hand, the finely repeated game is a
game, where a same one-shot stage game is played repeatedly for a certain period of time.
This is the reason for which this game is represented in an expensive form (Colman, 2016).
Game of Prisoner’s game deal with paradoxes of decision analysis, contrary to which in the
repeated game, each of the players can play a static game independently by selecting own
action.
