determination and score analysis to reduce the workloads.

Innovation in logistics and supply chain is the current hot topic of research and discussion on
global platforms. With the establishment of new businesses, there come new ways to handle
supply chains and companies like Ikea, Zara and Dell have emerged from their innovative
logistic perspectives. Not only in production industries, but even the healthcare sector is also
focusing on increasing the flow of production and the main reason behind this is the distance of
service care from their locations. Authors showed that hospitals in Taiwan and USA wanted to
get into suppliers for logistics innovation. Research shows that there is a need to focus on basic
logistics to innovate. Some take the voice of the customer approach for innovation, some
implemented cross-docking and pull-based supply chain design while the major areas for
innovation are found to be the product of service-based, process-based, position and paradigm

For this study, action research methodology has been utilised as it helps practitioners to indulge

due to rapid growth and integration in the global economy. It has been found that many Chinese
firms are linked globally but most of them are unaware of benefits from logistics innovation. The
research findings provide support for organisational structure and its role in performance
relationship, especially when logistics are focused. In addition to this, all businesses must
establish some new offerings to compete and differentiate. Moreover, one needs to get a better
understanding of the impacts of the structural designs and internal resources as a managerial
relevance which can offer betterment to the business according to the researchers.

The changes and innovation in logistics and supply chain are results of social, technological,
market evolutions with the customer demands. According to the authors, the automation in
production and distribution has migrated the businesses to new levels with the help of AI,
robotics etc. But, with these integrations and development, a major question comes out regarding
the controls that are shared with technologies, human workers are reducing, human-machine
interaction has increased, AI is utilised at most, machines are making decisions and hence
changed the arena of logistics and supply chain. It has been found that 2.9+ million people are
working in the logistics sector in Germany and there will be still needed for human drivers in
future. So, considering sustainability, authors proposed to use the triple bottom line approach and
it has been found that economic and social sustainability gets affected the most. Literature in the
study focuses on transportation automation and suggested that AI is now playing a major role in
mitigating the drawbacks and solving them whereas, there are developments in automobiles that
too with majorly AI. The future vision also suggests that the internet will be going to play an
important role in the same context. The suggested theoretical framework is with human-machine
interaction motive, and three areas are major hindrances; AI competences, autonomy and
decisions. To outline the research problem and how to cope up from them, human-machine
cooperation is found to be the major issue in logistics innovation. Cooperative bots (cobots) are
increased, human employees are reduced, and in recommendations, it has been said that AI
should involve divide elements, there is a need to develop an additional focus on logistics by
management, results should be checked and further preparations should be made on personal
experiences. Overall, it can be said that the paper has highlighted the concern of social and
economic sustainability with the drastic implementation of artificial intelligence for both
employees and firms, some benchmarking examples have been shown and stated that there is a
need to research on the human-machine interaction for future sustainability.
